Page 2 HERBERT E. PAYNE A heart attack claimed the life of Herbert E. Payne April 6. A resident of Loyalville, RD 2, Dallas, Mr. Payne had suffered the attack three days prior to his-death and was a patient in the Wilkes-Barre General ‘Hospital when he died. A well-known grocer in the Loyalville area, Mr. Payne was born in West Nanticoke and took up residence in Loyalville in 1913. He built a general store in 1923 which he operated since that time. He was a life member of Junior Order, United American Mechanics, West Nanticoke, and was a member of Loyalville United Methodist Church. Survivors include his sons, Clarence, with whom he resided; Earl, Blairsville; Robert and Harold, Green- - sburg; daughters, Iris Labar, Shavertown; Mary Alice Whitesell, Loyalville; Mildred DeLaney, Kingston; 18 grand- ‘children, 14 great- grandchildren; sister, Irma Rogers, Nanticoke. The funeral was held Monday morning from the Bronson with the Rev. Daniel Davis officiating. Burial was in Wardan Cemetery, Dallas. ANASTASIA ZABLOTNEY Anastasia Zablotney of 37 Longdale St., Shavertown, died at her home April 6 after a brief illness. A native of Poland, Mrs. ~~ Zablotney came to this country ~ 52 years ago and settled in ~~ Swoyersville. She lived the last 11 years in Shavertown and was a member of St. Vladimir's Ukrainian Catholic Church, | Edwardsville. She is survived by sons, Peter, Edwardsville; John, Swoyersville; daughter, Mrs. Peter Zumchak, Shavertown; six grandchildren. ~The funeral was held Monday | morning from the Harostock ~ Funeral Home, Wilkes-Barre, with Divine Liturgy at 10:30 in St. Vladimir’s Church. Interment was in Lehman | Cemetery. Douglas Ayers DANIEL GOREY Daniel Joseph Gorey Sr., a resident at Box 547, Maple Drive, Dallas, died Monday in Nesbitt Memorial Hospital. He was 57. Mr. Gorey, a native of Ed- wardsville, was employed at the Acme Stores Warehouse in Forty Fort. A veteran of World War II, he served in the Navy. He was a member of Gate of Heaven Church, Dallas. FRANK KUNDRAT Frank G. Kundrat of 42 Harris Hill Road, Trucksville, died April 5 at his home. He was 60. Born in Swoyersville, he was an agent for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company in Forty Fort 35 years until he became ill. He was a member of St. John’s Church, Luzerne. Survivors include his widow, the former Stella Gula; children, Irene, Baltimore, Md.; Jerry, Trucksville: mother, Susan Matthews, Swoyersville; a brother, Joseph, Westminster, Md. ; two grandchildren. Death was attributed to a heart attack. Mr. Smith, a native of Dan- ville, resided at Harveys Lake for 27 years. He was employed by the Pennsylvania Gas and Water Company prior to his retirement. A member of Alderson United Methodist Church, he served on the Dallas Area School Board and was active in the American Legion Post at Harveys Lake. Mr. Smith was a veteran of World War II. Survivors include a son, Gary, Laceyville; stepson, Richard Stein, Lovelton; sister, Mrs. William Beiberlie, Dan- ville; one grandchild. The funeral service was held Saturday from the Richard H. Swayze, a former resident of Dallas Township, died April 5 in St. Mary’s Hospital, Passaic, N.J., where he had been a patient three weeks. Born in Berwick 78 years ago, Mr. Swayze lived in Dallas Township most of his life, moving to 765 Clifton Ave., Clifton, N.J., 18 years ago. He was employed by the Okonite Company and was a member of Passaic United Methodist Church. He is survived by his widow, the former Gussie Gladey; son, Robert, Madison Township, N.J.; two grandchildren. The funeral service was held Saturday at the Harold C. Mr. Yamrus, a native of Swoyersville and author of two books of poems, requests that poets submit selections of their work to him at his address at 94 Oliver St., Swoyersville. He asks that a stamped, self- addressed envelope accompany the poems to facilitate their return. There is no age requirement or limitation on subject matter, Mr. Yamrus states. The Swoyersville poet is presently poetry editor of Our Town Magazette and has published two books of his poems: i love, published in January of 1971, and Lovely Youth, published this past January. A selection of his work will be included in an anthology of poetry to be published soon ologized by Vantage Press. In commenting on his work, Mr. Yamrus, observed ‘‘poetry is a direct one to one com- munication.
