He started at the age of ' 8 in Cub Scouting in Troop 281 with Mrs. Charles Wasserott as den mother. He served as den chief with Mrs. Donald Werts of Carverton. for two years. Glen Kozemchak, 14, is the son of Mga and Mrs. Walter Kozemch®®, 183 Overbrook ‘Ave., Dallas. He started in scouting as a Cub Scout in 1965 with Cub Pack 233, Shavertown, and joined Boy Scout Troop 281 in 1968. He has served the troop as den chief, assistant patrol leader and is now serving as a patrol leader. He has attended Camp Acahela for three years, has earned 23 merit badges and is a member of Gischigan Lodge, Order of the Arrow. He received the God and Country Award in 1971. He has partici- pated in the Polar Bear Weekend and has. received the Red Cross Junior Life Saving Certificate. He has two years perfect attendance with the troop. Glen is.a member of the Prince Acace Episcopal Church and its church school. He has sung with the junior choir for four years, served as an acolyte for three years and is a member of the Episcopal Young C*irchmen. He is a freshman at the Dallas Junior High School where he is a member of the band and the brass choir. David Shelby III, 16, son of Mr. and Mrs. David Shelby Jr., Orchard View Terrace, Dallas, has served Troop 281 as a senior patrol leader and scribe, as- sistant patrol leader and patrol leader in troops in other states. Honors received in scouting include the Red Cross junior lifesaving, and Order of the Arrow. A member of scouting since he was eight years old, David has passed through Cub Scouts and through Boy Scouts to attain the rank of Eagle. He has earned 21 merit badges during his years as a scout. David@¥ a junior in Dallas Senior High School and has made honor role since eighth grade; he plans to attend college. He is a member of the Dallas High School band and the Dallas Wrestling Team. Earl W. Phillips Jr., the son of Mr. and Ns Earl W. Phillips of 38 Machell Ave., Dallas has been a member of Troop 281 for five years. During this time he has served as assistant patrol leader and librarian and is currently serving as quarter- master. He attended Camp Acahela for three years. His awards include the one-mile swim and he is a member of Gischigin Lodge, Order of the Arrow, the honorary camping society for scouts. Mec- Donald, White Birch Mobile Home Ranch, is 14 and has been. a scout for three years. Before becoming a scout he was a Cub with Pack 155, Trucksville, Pack 390, Camp LeJune, North Carolina, and Webelos with Pack 281, Dallas. While a Cub he obtained all 15 Webelos badges and has three years perfect attendance. He has earned 21 merit badges during his scouting years and now holds the rank of troop scribe. He has served as an assistant patrol leader, den chief of Pack 281 for three years, and now serves as a den chief of the Webelos and is troop publicity chairman. Jeff has attended Camp Acahela, Polar Bear weekend, Camporee, Camporal, District II First Aid Meet. He is a brotherhood member of Gischi- gin Lodge, Order of the Arrow, a sacred camping society, and is chairman of their display and demonstration committee for the forthcoming scout show in June. He is also an active member of the ceremonial dancers at Camp Achaela. Jeff is a freshman at Dallas Junior High where he partici- pates in the chess club, bowling team and intramural basket- ball. He belongs to the Trucks- ville United Methodist Church and serves as a Crucifer and usher. He will be attending Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico. David Casselberry, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert L. Cassel berry, began Scouting in February of 1966 as a Cub Scout. After advancing through Cubs he entered Webelos where he attained the rank of Tenderfoot. He then joined Boy Scout Troop 281 in February of 1969. Dave is now serving as a Webelos den chief and assistant senior patrol leader in his troop. He has also served as a patrol leader for 11 months. Dave has attended summer camp at Camp Acahela for three years and participated in the 1969 First Aid- Meet, the 1970 Camporal at Lehman, the 1971 First Aid Meet, the 1971 and 1972 Polar Bear Weekends and 1971 . Camporee. He also attended the Junior Leaders’ Training Course and is a member of The Order of the Arrow. Next summer Dave is planning to go to the Scout Ranch at Philmont, N.M. Dave is a ninth grade honor student at the Dallas Junior High School. He has been a member of the chorus for three years and is participating in intramural basketball. He is a member of The First Presbyterian Church of Wilkes- Barre. Bill Dierolf, son of Col. and Mrs. William H. Dierolf, has been in scouting for four years. He is a member of Troop 281, Dallas. Bill began his scouting in Taiwan where he attended a camporee on a beach with Chinese Boy Scouts. After earning twenty-one merit badges and doing a community service project, Bill is ready to receive his Eagle Award March 9. He attended Camp Acahela three years and the Camporal at Lehman. He is now serving as quartermaster for his troop and is a brother: hood member of the Order of the Arrow. Bill goes to Dallas Senior - High and is active on the wrest- ling and cross country teams.
