Jones who died was the man that made and sold those delicious potato pancakes and Pieroghies at Sunset, Harveys Lake? Sorry to say, it was him. We were all shocked when we heard he had a heart whole community would like to express heartfelt sympathy to his widow and his two sons. We would also like to offer sympathy to my next door neighbor Mrs. James O’Con- nell, on the sudden death of her brother, Joseph M. Levan, who had a heart attack Feb. 5, while visiting friends and relatives in Wilkes-Barre. ~.He was a resident of the Parsons section for many years. When his sister, Mrs. O'Connell, became a widow about six years ago he began spending the winters with her and returning to his home in Parsons for the summer. He is survived by his sister, Mrs. 0’Connell, Warden. Place;a brother, Charles, of Wilkes- Barre, and two nieces, Mrs. John Bielecki and Helen Levan, all of Wilkes-Barre. William Wanch, a guest at the Lake Side Hotel, Warden Place, seeing skaters and fishermen on the ice at Harveys lake, decided he would like to take a walk on the ice, What he didn’t know was that the ice is cut away from the docks, so. . .one way or another, he got on the ice, .but when he decided to get off, he came too close to the dock where the ice was cut, and he fell in the lake. William yelled for help, and if a fisherman from Nanticoke, Slim Miekewicz, hadn’t heard him, and jumped in and rescued William, this would be a dif- ferent story. The moral is, , ,. . you people who come out from the city, be careful, or you might be the next person who falls in. Did you do your good deed for the day? The Girl Scouts are having their annual cookie sale, so when a Girl Scout knocks on your door, please buy a box or two from her.
