Carolyn Edwards, a member
of Lake-Lehman High School
band, will represent that group
in the All State Band at the
Pennsylvania Music Educators
Association Convention to be
held in Pittsburgh this month.
Miss Edwards is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Edwards,
Huntsville Road.
Mrs. James Lorah and infant
son, Kenneth William, have
returned to their home at 108 S.
Memorial Highway from
Nesbitt Hospital.
Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Kresge,
Rear 229 Cliffside Ave., spent
the holiday weekend with their
son and daughter-in-law, Mr.
and Mrs. Donald Kresge and
family, Mountville.
Herbert Hurst, 6 S. Memorial
Highway, won an honorable
mention certificate in the 37th

at home after being a medical
patient in Nesbitt Hospital. Mr.
Gray suffered a broken arm in a
fall.

in the parlors of Trucksville

who celebrated their 52nd
wedding anniversary Friday.

after being a patient in Nesbitt
Hospital.
John Soveroski, South
Pioneer Avenue, has enlisted in
the Army Security Agency. Pvt.
Soveroski will take his basic
combat training at Fort Dix,
N.J.
Mrs. Gorden R. Williams and
infant son have returned from
Nesbitt Hospital to their home
at 82 Lehigh St.
The engagement of Patricia
Ann Nagle, 158 Staub Road, to 2.
Lt. Robert D. Lorah of
Kingston, has been announced.
Miss Nagle is employed as a
medical secretary at the
Nesbitt Hospital. Mr. Lorah is
stationed at Chanute AFB,
Rantoul, Ill., where he is a
member of the operating staff
at the Chanute Regional
Hospital.
Mrs. William Lohman, Loh-
man Street, will celebrate her
birthday Sunday.
Mrs. Conrad Heck and infant
daughter have returned to their
home on Bunker Hill Road from
Nesbitt Hospital.
Mr. and Mrs. John Wood-
mansee and daughter, Orchard

Syracuse, N.Y. Her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Dowding,
who were enroute to their home
in Syracuse from a vacation in
Florida spent some time here
with the Woodmansees.

when the Penn Mountains
Council, Boy Scouts of America,
holds its Polar Bear weekend at
Camp Acahela from Jan. 14-16.

This ‘‘bug’’ that’s going
around is making its rounds
among my neighbors. First one
family is down in bed, and in a
couple of days another is down.
So far everyone has gotten over
it, but the hardest hit was
Stanley Wempa of Second
Street, who was rushed to the
~ General Hospital in the Lake
ambulance. He was admitted
the last of December and is still
there, having a rough time of it.
We, his friends and neighbors,
want him to know we are
wishing him a speedy recovery.
Mr. and Mrs. Mickey Tat-
tersall, Warden Place, Lake
Side Hotel, held a New Year’s
Eve party in the main dining
room of their hotel. Present
were: Mr. and Mrs. Paul
Dunbar and family: Chreitine
Covert and family; Helen
Covert and family; Floyd
McRoy, Albert Harrison, Jack
Konsavage, the Tattersall
farhily, and Mr. and Mrs. Steve
Bock and family, who came
from Baltimore, Md., to spend
the New Year with Mrs. Bock’s
