Misericordia Students
Begin New Semester
College Misericordia will of-
ficially begin its spring semes-
ter Monday as students return
to classes following holiday va-
cation. The students have been
on semester break for nearly
four weeks.
The semester break at
College Misericordia was
longer this year than in pre-
vious years as the college re-
cently adopted a 4:4 plan for
classes. Under the plan, the
students attend classes for four
months, have a month semester
break, and continue with a four
month long spring semester.
One of the advantages of the
program is that finals are com-
pleted for the fall semester
before the vacation period.
When students return, they im-
mediately begin the new
semester.
. Extension division classes at
the college will also begin
Monday with the first class
meeting at 6 p.m. Extension
classes scheduled prior to that
period will not be held, ac-
cording to Sister Mary Eloise
McGinty, RSM, Registrar.
Tuesday’s extension classes
will be held as scheduled, she
said.
The spring semester at
College Misericordia will ‘end
May 17. Graduation ceremonies
have been scheduled for May 21.
