Fourth Starlight Ball
To be Elegant Affair
The fourth annual Starlight
Ball, scheduled to be held at
West Side Armory Nov. 6, will
be sponsored again this year by
the Wilkes-Barre, General
Hospital Auxiliary for the
benefit of the hospital's patient
care program. According to
Mrs. Richard J. Levy, ball
general chairman, the 1971
event is expected to be quite
elegant with plans for two of
America’s leading society
dance orchestras, a gourmet
seated dinner, a light breakfast,
a specially constructed dance
floor, valet parking, and a
decorating motif based on
“Moonlight and Stars.” Mrs.
Charles E. Meyers is co-
chairman.
Mrs. Adrian M. Pearsall,
patron committee chairman,
has already announced full
membership of the patrons’
committee for the event. She
stated all members of the
community are invited to
become patrons, and may do so
by contacting any committee
member. The committee in-
cludes:

Pvt. Gerald Colovos has re-
turned to his base at Camp
Legeune after spending a leave
with his parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Gus Colovos, 120 Lehigh St.
Upon his return to base he will
receive infantry training.

family party last evening. The
occasion marked her birthday
anniversary.

tendent at Interstate Bakeries,
Kingston, and for terminal manager

Welcome Wagon Club
Plans Sponsor Night
The Welcome Wagon Club of
Wyoming Valley held its Sep-
tember board meeting at the
UGI building, Kingston, with
Mrs. Frank English presiding.
Plans were discussed for the
first regular meeting of the
season, Sept. 27, which will
feature ‘‘Sponsor Night”.
It was decided to hold games
at Valley Crest Hospital the
second and fourth Wednesdays
of each month. All members
and guests are invited to tour
Valley Crest.

12 Student Instructors
Begin Teaching in Area
Twelve College Misericordia
seniors will be student teaching
in Lake-Lehman and Dallas
area schools this semester
beginning Sept. 20, according to
Arnold Garinger, director of
student teaching at the college.
Six students will be placed in
the Lake-Lehman schools and
six in Dallas.
For the Lake-Lehman school
district, the six student teachers
are Diane Crivello, Middlesex,
N.J.; Maurine Diskin, Scran-
ton; Mary Ellen Lapansky,
Catasauga; Janet Neiderer,
McSherrystown; Jane Pan-
none, Bound Brook, N.J.; and
Sheila Reager, Seaside Park,
N.J.

teacher from the participating
school district and an advisor
assigned by the college.
Additional students will be
