On Monday morning, they are leaving for Holton, Maine, to visit at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Girvan for one week. Mrs. William Engelman is spending the week with her daughter, Mrs. Jerry Boone and family at Eyersville. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Kohler and son, Daron of Wilmington, Del., are spending a week with Mrs. Joseph Hackling and Carl. Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Patton spent Saturday at the home of their son Carlton and family at Newark, Del. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Denn- son, Pamela, Ricky and Mark, and Mr. and Mrs. Spencer Holmgren Jr. and Cheryl and Karen, toured the Catskill Game Farm and the Howe Caverns during the past week. Mr. and Mrs. Loren Sayre Food Shopping Habit Many foodshoppers don’t: realize how costly it is to wheel a shopping cart to the parking lot and leave it to be hit or dam- aged by a car. Each of these shopping carts costs the store owner $35 to $50, possibly more, says Harold E. Neigh, extension consumer economics specialist at The Pennsylvania State Uni- versity. Carts are part of the cost of doing business and when shoppers wheel them away the cost of business goes up. Mrs. Homer Scouten is having her home remodeled. Clarence Turner is doing the carpenter work and painting. Marshall Schenck, son of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Schenck, left Aug. 2 for Lackland, Tex. where he will be stationed with the air force for his basic training. He was honored at a ‘‘going away’’ party by his many friends Sunday evening. He enlisted for four years. Lawrence Belles is a patient in the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. William Mac- Millan are visiting Capt. and Mrs. Jerry Evelan and family in Germany. Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Miner, Mrs. Ray Kelly’ 298-2149 Vero Beach, Fla., called on Jacob Miner Monday. Jacob Miner entertained the officers of Noxen Community Federal Credit Union at their monthly meeting Aug. 15.
