This written notice identifies eligible candidates and should be pre- sented at the test site to gain admittance to the examination room. Under new postal regulations, state civil service applications _ require at least 16 cents in pos- tage. Applications with insuffi- cient postage are returned to the sender. The resultant delay may disadvantage applicants - who fail to meet deadlines for applying. Job-seekers who wish to participate in ‘‘daily” civil ser- vice examinations must make arrangements in advance with the appropriate office of the State Civil Service Commission. Selected examinations are held daily at SCSC offices in Harris- burg, Philadelphia, and Pitts- burgh. Scheduling for some examinations currently re- quires about a two-weeks wait. State civil service ratings for some examinations are based on the information applicants provide on the application. For this reason, applicants should be sure to include all data re- lating to their experience and training so that their job qual- ifications will be reflected com- pletely and accurately. Greenstreet News For Wedding Stationery . 675-5211 Report swiped a telephone pole, and went back on the road. His late-model Plymouth Duster had estimated damages of $1,000. Police Chief Frank Lange in- vestigated. Three cars were involved in an accident on Route 309 Aug. 20. There were no injuries re- ported. According to Patrolman Carl Miers, the two moving cars were owned by Stephen Barosky of Kingston, and Claudine Brandon, RD 1, Harveys Lake, and a parked car belonged to Elizabeth E. Daily, 199 Lawn St., Shavertown. The report showed the Brandon car was pulling out of an ice-cream store parking lot to go north on Route 309 when the Barosky car, traveling north on Route 309 ran into the left side of Mrs. Brandon’s 1965 Ford sedan, pushing it off the right side of the roadway and into the Daily vehicle. The parked car was in the lot of Dallas Tool Company. Patrolman Miers reported Mr. Barosky had visibility of the Brandon car for 210 feet. The Barosky machine left 110 feet of skid marks before the impact and continued for 55 feet before stopping. The skid marks showed there was no attempt to swerve to avoid the Brandon automobile. A reckless charge was cited against Rennard Lee Carkhuff, 22, of Huntsville St., Dallas, after a mishap Aug. 21 on Sutton Creek Road. Patrolman Carl Miers in- vestigated the 11:05 incident. His report showed Mr. Carkhuff was traveling west on Sutton Creek Road and the right front wheel went off the right side of the roadway. From that point the 1970 Plymouth coupe left 153 feet of skid marks, ecriss- crossing the driving lanes. The vehicle hit a ditch and rolled over, coming to rest on its roof. The driver complained of a sore back but told police he PAGE 23A MASTERING A LARGE INSTRUMENT like the trombone is sometimes child’s play.
