Caressing moccason tie on || | Response to the Trucksville | Volunteer Fire Company’s annual fund drive has been somewhat disappointing, ac- cording to campaign chairman Jack Stephenson. The appeal, which supports both the fire company and the Kingston Township Ambulance Association, was initiated earlier this month and has failed to bring in sufficient operating revenue to the organ- izations. Mr. Stephenson has pointed out that during 1970, regular op- erating expenses of the fire company amounted to slightly more than $2,600, while the op- erating expenses for the am- bulance exceeded $2,100. Neither figure includes money set aside as a reserve for the re- placement of the ambulance or fire trucks. t Mrs. Ralph Welsh IS guest of honor at birthday party Mrs. Ralph Welsh was guest of honor recently at a surprise dinner given at her home in Idetown by her daughters, marking the occasion of her 69th birthday anniversary. The table decorations were carried out in spring colors with a centerpiece of tinted calla-- lillies, a gift of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Welsh. Attending the dinner were Mrs. Ralph Neely, Mrs. Alex Rebar, Mrs. Gomer Thomas, Mrs. Albert Exley, Mrs. Fred Welsh, Mrs. Robert Coley, Mrs. John R. Mahle, Linda Dymond, and Mrs. Harold Dymond. When Mrs. Welsh posed for the photographer, she ex- claimed, “I've been reading The Dallas Post all my life”. fire company appeal needs more support The 1971 fund drive chairman states that only 378 persons have responded to the organiza- tions’ plea for financial support to date—a figure which repre- sents less than 27 per cent of all persons contacted. “Although you may be tired of solicitations,” Mr. Stephen- son observes, ‘we can think of no more deserving or necessary service to our community than the fire and ambulance ser- vice.” The appeal will close Friday, May 7. Residents of Trucksville and Carverton who are served by the fire and ambulance com- panies are urged to send a dona- tion before that date or are re- quested to bring their contribu- tion to the fire company meeting on the last day of the campaign.
