Senior party
All members of the senior
class have been invited to at-
tend a Valentine’s Day party
Feb. 13. The party will take
place from 8-11 p.m. with music
provided by the Leer Brothers.
Eleven senior girls are sponsor-
ing the gala affair: Linda
Dexter, Cathy Wilson, Linda
Doughton, Gwen Arnaud,
Pamela Rood, Kathy Smith,
Mary Cully, Bernadine Sher-
man, Nancy Roberts, Becky
Walk, and Michele Masoner.
Seniors don’t forget singles, as
well as couples, are invited!
Talent show
Students of Dallas High
School have been afforded an
opportunity to display their
talents at the annual Student
Council Talent Show coming up
soon. Everyone-seniors,
juniors, and sophomores (sorry,
teachers-maybe ‘you can
arrange your own show!) can
participate in the show
presented at the school, pro-
vided they first pass approval in
auditions. We’re positive that
Dallas has ample number of
able and well-equipped students
but are you willing?
Welcome Tamar
We're happy to announce that
Dallas High School is the proud
recipient of a new student,
Tamar Solnik. Miss Solnik is
presently residing with the
Stiles of Grandview Avenue,
New Goss Manor, Dallas.
Tamar is a native of’ New
Zealand, and is a participant in
the Wilkes-Barre Rotary
program. She is 16 years old and
will enroll as a senior at Dallas.

Last Wednesday, activity and
Club pictures were taken for the
1971 yearbook. The Key Club,
band, majorettes, orchestra,

BSC cager
Dave Jones, Shavertown, was
listed among the players whose
names were recently released
by Bloomsburg State College as
the leading scorers on the BSC
frosh basketball team. °
Dave, a 1970 graduate of
Dallas Senior High School, has
been averaging 10.5 points per
game for the 10 games played to
date.
We hope

throughout the day.
NMSQT’s
Some of the Junior students
will be trying for a national
merit scholarship by participat-
ing in the NMSQT tests, Feb. 13.
The tests will be given Saturday
morning at the high school.

Last Friday the second report
card of the school year was"
handed out.
After going through all that, a
day off from school is welcome.
On Feb. 15, we’ll have our first
day off since Christmas.
post office
closed Feb. 15
George Washington’s birth-
day will be observed Monday,
Feb. 15. The Dallas Post Office
* will be closed, it was announced
by Postmaster Ed Buckley.
There will be no window
service, but the lobby will be
open from 7a.m. to 9:30 a.m. for
those customers who have
post office boxes.
There will be no delivery of
mail by city or rural carriers.
Special delivery service will be
provided within the city
delivery limits.
Mail will be dispatched to
Wilkes-Barre at 5:30 p.m.
Trucksville WSCC
plans fashion show
The WSCS of the Trucksville
Methodist Church will sponsor a
spring fashion show and tea
March 4 at 8 in the Trucksville
Educational Building. Fashions
will be by Bergman’s Depart-
ment Store. Chairman is Mrs.
Thomas Williams; tickets, Mrs.
Verne Pritchard and Mrs.
William Lohman; tea, Mrs.

Miss Reiss has cozy
kindergarten classroom §
Like all of the rooms in the
Dallas Kindergarten Building,
Kathleen Reiss’ classroom is
carpeted with a sturdy wall to
wall carpet that absorbs the
merry sounds of children’s play
. and provides a cozy home-
away-from-home for her five
year old kindergarteners.
