full military honors
Back Mountain residents flew
their flags at half mast last
week and several hundred
people paid their last respects
to Sgt. Joseph Chisko, the
Dallas soldier killed in Cam-
bodia June 9.
Sgt. Chisko was laid to rest
with full military honors last
Saturday. A large United States
Army detail from the Indian-
town Gap Military Reservation
accorded the honors and acted
as pallbearers. The funeral was
held from the Harold C.
Snowdon Funeral Home, 140 N.
Main St., Shavertown.
A Concelebrated Mass of
Requiem was said at Gate of
Heaven Church, Dallas, by the
Rev. Stephen McGough, the
Rev. Thomas Banick and the
Rev. Michael Rafferty. Also
present in the sanctuary of the
church was the Rev. Robert
DeWitt Yost, pastor of the
Ambulance Log

family at the offertory of the
Mass as an offering represent-
ing Sgt. Chisko’s past life. The
flag was blessed and put on the
casket at the end of the Mass.
Burial Services were said at

Cemetery, Dallas, by the Rev.
McGough and the Rev. Ban-
nick. Following the solemn .
ritual, the flag was presented to
