Carson 62, Shrine Acres, Dallas, an official of the Acme Markets, died May 18 at his home of a heart attack. Mr. Carson was born in Echo. He was employed by the Acme Markets as zone manager. A member of Shavertown United Methodist Church, Mr. Carson - was also a trustee and a mem- ber of its administrative board; Central City Lodge 305, F&AM, Syracuse, N.Y.; Bloomsburg Consistory; Irem Temple and a director of the United Fund. Surviving are his widow, the former Catherine Postlewaite; sons, Dr. Robert B. Carson, a professor at the State Univer- sity, Oneonta, N.Y.; Larry W. Carson, Forty Fort; five grand- children; a sister, Martha M. Ruppert, Vandergrift. The funeral was held from the Hugh B. Hughes and Son Funeral Home, 1044 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort, Saturday. The Rev. Robert DeWitt Yost of Shavertown United Methodist Church officiated. Interment was in Fern Knoll Burial Park, Dallas. Before his retire-- ment he was superintendent of construction at Maicomber and Company, Boston. Mr. Still was a member of Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Kingston. Surviving are his widow, the former Maud Swingle Leek; children, Esther Salario, Bell- flower, Calif.; Beverly Gannon, Emerson, N.J.; Virginia Kloss, West Peabody, Mass; sisters, Ina Hallock, Shavertown, and Ethel Van Campen, Wyoming; four grandchildren. Joseph Chisko, the Dallas soldier killed in Cam- bodia June 9. Sgt. Chisko was laid to rest with full military honors last Saturday. A large United States Army detail from the Indian- town Gap Military Reservation accorded the honors and acted as pallbearers. The funeral was held from the Harold C. Snowdon Funeral Home, 140 N. Main St., Shavertown. A Concelebrated Mass of Requiem was said at Gate of Heaven Church, Dallas, by the Rev. Stephen McGough, the Rev. Thomas Banick and the Rev. Michael Rafferty. Also present in the sanctuary of the church was the Rev. Robert DeWitt Yost, pastor of the Ambulance Log Shavertown United Methodist Church, who gave a final com- mendation at the conclusion of the Mass. Organist was Rose- mary Wester, and Paul Wil- liams was the soloist. In an impressive new ritual of the Catholic Church, described by funeral director, Snowdon, the American flag was pre- sented by the dead soldier’s family at the offertory of the Mass as an offering represent- ing Sgt. Chisko’s past life. The flag was blessed and put on the casket at the end of the Mass. Burial Services were said at the interment in St. John’s Cemetery, Dallas, by the Rev. McGough and the Rev. Ban- nick. Following the solemn . ritual, the flag was presented to the widow by members of the army detail, a volley of shots were fired, sounded. DALLAS June 16—Auto accident on Route 118, Dallas.
