Dallas Legion
auxiliary holds
poster contest
American Legion Auxiliary
Unit 672 of Dallas has invited
students in fifth through 12th
grades at Dallas to participate
in a “Poppy Poster Contest.”
The unit hopes to stimulate an
increased feeling of patriotism
as Memorial Day draws near.
Winning posters in each class
will be sent to the Auxiliary’s
State Convention at Harrisburg.
to compete on a state-wide basis
with winners of other units.
State winners will go on to the
National Convention. Members
of the Dallas Auxiliary Unit feel
there is a possibility that a
Dallas student will win national
recognition.
Mrs. Fred Templin, poppy
chairman of Unit 672, has an-
nounced that the local poster
contest will end May 15 and
winners will be selected the
following week by a panel of
judges.
