The team, consist- ing of 22 girls, played the Montrose team in a tough basketball game. The official girls’ basketball season opens in January. Coaches are Sally Faerber and Catherine Wega. Christmas Dance The annual Student Council Christmas Dance was held Friday, Dec. 19, in the school gym, which had been gaily decorated for the Yuletide occasion. The semi-formal affair, which proved to be a tremendous success, was held from 8-11 p.m. Music was pro- vided by the Interfaith and an enjoyable time was had by all. Yearbook The 1970 yearbook is now on sale to all students. The price of the book is $6. which may be paid in three install- ments of $2 each. This year’s yearbook, The Dallas, pro- mises to be better than ever and it will’ be worthwhile ‘to buy one early: Choral Activities The annual Christmas con- cert, which was to be held Sunday, Dec. 14 at 3 p.m. was postponed to one week later at the same time. The bank opened the program with several Yuletide tunes including “Christmas Suite,” ‘‘Jingle Bell Rhapsody,” and ‘‘Christ- mas In Other Lands.” The chorus entertained with such numbers as ‘‘Joy To The World,” “Go Tell It On The Mountain,’ ‘‘Christmas Day In The Morning,”’ ‘‘Christmas Polka,” “Hurry Home,”’ and “Sleigh Ride.” The Jesters, a group of six senior boys, sang “It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas.” A duet was presented by Lorene Daring and Ruth De- Witt entitled “The Ballad Of The Christmas Wind’ The Chansonnaires, who are a group of nine couples, were featured in a number called “Let It Snow.”” Monday, Dec. 15, the Choristers were on tour. They gave programs at Public Square, the Wilkes-Barre Court House, Sutton Home, Valley Crest Hospital, and the Veteran Administration Hospital. Mon- day, Dec. 22, they will present a program for the West Side Technical School. Wrestling The wrestling squad was in- troduced in a pep rally last Wednesday in the school gym by Coach Bamrick. The starting team showed the assembly sev- eral excercises and moves utilized in wrestling. Wednes- day, Dec. 17, they traveled to Tunkhannock to bout with the varsity team there. Saturday, Dec. 20, the Dallas grapplers met Wyalusing in‘the Wyalusing gym. All students are urged to attend the meets and help the cheerleaders cheer for Dallas. Boys’ Basketball At an exciting game with St. Nicholas, Dallas was defeated by a score of 56-50 in the third game of the basketball season. Playing: Central Catholic - December 16 Dallas was again beaten by a score of 79-70. The Christ- i} mas scenes, which were so beautifully portrayed, should certainly help to spread the Christmas spirit among all residents of The Back Moun- tain! cs driver injured in 2-car crash Two cars collided on ice, with injury to one driver, on the sharp Upper Demunds Road curve near the Dallas Drive-In Friday morning, at 10: 45. According to Dallas Town- ship police chief Frank Lange, the 1966 Ford coupe, driven by. Mary Ann_Sholtis,. RD 1, Dallas, went out of control ina skid and struck the 1963 north- bound Mercedes Benz driven by A.R. Roat, 286 -N. Sprague Ave., Kingston. Roat said he! would consult his doctor about a bruise on the head. Left side of Roat’s car was damaged, while there was damage to the front end of the Sholtis car. One passenger in the Sholtis car, two-year-old son Thomas, was not hurt. Arthur Culver helped Chief Lange at the scene.
