The play is under the direction of Mr. Hopkins. Students guests of the Boston Store Two business practice classes were guests of the Boston Store in Wilkes-Barre. The students were given a tour of various business offices and refresh- "ments were served. The teachers accompanying the students were Miss Thomas and Mr. Hontz. Meeting at Coughlin ~ Susan Owens, Sandy Gorden, Elaine Friedman and Kathy “Brennen will represent Dallas High School at a meeting to be held Dec. 2 at Coughlin High School. ~The purpose of the meeting will be to discuss plans for a dance for all junior and senior classes in the Wyoming Valley which will be held later in De- ~ cember. ~~ Football ~ Dallas met Central Catholic at home Nov. 10. Despite the ‘efforts of the Mountaineers, Central won with a 14-0 score. The Mountaineers met with the Coughlin Crusaders Friday, Nov. 14, at Coughlin. Choristers The Dallas High School Choristers will provide music at an ecumenical service to be held at the Trucksville United Methodist Church Thanksgiving Eve, Nov. 26. School Dances A dance sponsored by the se- noir class was held Nov. 15 from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Music was provided by Joe Nardone and the Allstars. The junior class will sponsor a dance to be held Nov. 26 from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Future Teachers Club Members of the Future Teach- ers Club participated in a stu- dent teaching program for National Education Week. Stu- dents took over elementary classes in the Dallas Borough School Nov. 13. Members of the club who took part were: Bonni Long, Lorene Daring, Scott Lefko, Debbie Anderson, Ruth Lewis, Barb Connolly, Susan Bucan and Joan Farley. Chorus Concert The Dallas Senior High School Chorus will present a concert for the general public Dec. 14 at 3 p.m. A program for the student body will be given Dec. 19. Senior Class Hayride The senior class will hold a hayride Nov. 28 for members of the class. Dallas Brownies observe birthday Brownie Troop 637, Dallas, observed its troop birthday Tuesday, Nov. 11, at the Dallas United Methodist Church. Joan Bolinski birthday cake and the birthday song was sung by candlelight. Cadette Scouts Karen Aicher, Janice and Dana Ziegler taught the Brownies new songs and games. Troop leaders are Mrs. Ivan Ziegler, Mrs. Craig Aicher and Mrs. H. McCartney. legion auxiliary meets tonight The regular meeting of the Daddow-Isaacs Post 672 Amer- ican Legion Auxiliary will be held at the Dallas Legion home tonight, Nov. 20, at 7:30. Members are asked to bring washcloths and scissors to make favors for prizes at the VA Hospital. A report will be given by members of the auxiliary who participated in the Veterans Day parade Sunday, Nov. 9. Since the copyright date is 1968, it has only been pre- sented in a few American high schools and colleges. Lake Lions fete Little Leaguers The Harveys Lake Lions Club gave a dinner recently for mem- bers of the Little League and their fathers. Awards were presented to the boys by Lion president, Charles Saamer, and Little League manager, Al Wendel. Fathers present were: Bill Purclee, Francis Fisher, Ed- ward Ungvarsky, Ernest Daily, Lloyd Naugle, Duane Wickard, coach ; James Bonham, Thomas Garrity, Fay Williams, Jacob Brin Jr., Floyd Taylor, Emmet Hoover and Al Wendel Jr. Little League members at- tending were: Duane Wickard, Gary Naugle, Mike Varrity, Joe Tom Bonham, Burt Hoover, Eddie Ungvarsky, Nick Brin, Jim Taylor, Al Wendle 3rd, Kevin Fisher, Steve Wick- ard, Eric Morrow and Ernie Daily. Grand old Culver College, an outpost of individualism, is run- ning out of funds and faces closing its doors. But a group of dorm students, led by Rona ‘Vincent, a vivacious ‘‘doer’’ of a class president, tries to save the school by making one mil- lion dollars. How these students raise this huge sum in six weeks is hilari- ous. A bath tub is the center of attraction for many slapsticking antics. Brian, a graduate of Dallas Senior High School, is a student ‘at The Pennsylvania State Uni- ‘versity in geological science.
