Sizemore BEAUMONT, PA. - dnt three fires answered by items on Dallas firemen Sale at Dr. Henry M. Laing Fire ~ Company anwered three alarms . last week with a good com- plement of volunteers respond- ing. First call was to the Dale Parry Asphalt plant on De- munds Road July 1 at 8:15 a.m. Heated asphalt boiling over could have produced a great loss but firemen were called promptly and with two . lines of two and a half inch hose and two trucks were able to end all danger within an hour. Office and plant buildings were spared. The only casualty was the loss of asphalt. Shaver- town Fire Company assisted their neighbors. Don Bulford, assistant chief was in charge. On July 4th firemen were called to Demunds Road near the Methodist Campgrounds when a garage owned by Dorothy Carcasi was destroyed. Fire was detected well after fire got underway and booster lines again kept the flames from spreading. Shortly after trucks had returned to base a car at Fernbrook Corners caught fire and was put out by Dallas Volunteers. Automobile belonged to T.J. Kleever, Nes- copeck. William Berti was in charge of the two latter calls. Officers urge that fire com- panies be called at the onset of a fire so that damage can be curtailed by prompt action. If one starts to extinguish the blaze valuable time is lost and trained fire fighters know exactly what to do. Ten to twenty men responded on all calls. No. 554 of 1969. Joseph G. Tomascik, Attorney 7-3 13 LEGAL NOTICE NOTICE ISHEREBY GIVEN that Letters Testamentary in the Estate of HARRY SHEL- DON, late of the Township of Ross, who died on the 5th. day of November, 1968, have been granted to LOUISE LORD, Sweet Valley, R.D. 1, Hun- lock Creek, Pa. Creditors are notified to make known their claims and those indebted to the estate to make payment to said Executrix or to her ‘attorney. B.B. Lewis, Atty. 5 Main St., Dallas, Pa. 7-10 t3 LEGAL NOTICE Estate of Veronica Baloga, late of the City of Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania (died February 22, 1969). Let- ters testamentary have been granted to (Rev.) Damian Baloga, OSB., c/o Atty. Joseph G. Tomascik, Blue Cross Bldg., Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. All persons having claims or demands are requested to make payment without delay. (No. 553 of 1969). Joseph G. Tomascik, Attorney 7-3 t3 auction Mrs. Ambrose West has re- furnished a small doll bed for the antiques table, making sheets and pillow cases for it, a ruffled bedspread, and seeing to the bodily comfort of the doll by going modern with a sponge rubber mattress. There's a black walnut straight chair in the barn, cry- ing for a new cane seat. One of these round jobs. Hix offers to do a cane job on it at half price, for anybody who buys it over the block. Odds and Ends committee has an accumulation of stuff that would make your eyes bug out, more than ever before. There’s a big hobby horse up in the loft of the Barn, one of these chargers which dances on springs. Good big substan- tial base, hard to tip over. There is a standing bid on it for $10, so somebody will have to do better than that. The old school desk situation is about the same as usual, except that the desks are larger. The small size cleared out fast. An old school desk makes an excellent telephone stand, with a place for the phone book beneath, and a handy seat. Paint it up and give it some Pennsylvania Dutch hex marks. The chandelier that hung in the Glen Lyon bank for 78 years before the establishment was taken over by Hanover National Bank, will go over the block. It took four men to load it onto the truck. It is supposed to have cost over $1200 when it was first installed. It’s a period piece and a conversation piece. A number of concerns offered to buy it when it was first taken down in advance of re- modeling, but it had been promised to the Library Auc- tion. Antique dealers are in- terested. The auction block was erected by Monday of this week, a record for this piece of construction. The bony frame- work of the tents was also in place, and the Barn was loaded with the biggrsy collection of stuff imaginable, with more to come. There is an outsize potbellied stove requiring four men to handle it, the kind of heating apparatus that used to grace the middle of the general store, a mecca for farmers. Somebody outht to buy it for a big hunt- ing cabin, as being a lot more efficient than a fireplace. Mrs. Ray Shiber was in the antiques stall Monday, ready to receive pieces of glass and china. Remember those gadgets that used to sit in the middle of the dining table with vinegar cruets, mustard pot and what- not? One is at hand, nicely polished. Some nice brass, also, and a goodly array of items left over from last Auction, things which did not get across the block for lack of time. Many more antiques promised, enough to make the display table glow with color. Another thing: nice tinware, eady for the women to deco- ‘rate who are on the lookout, and have been studying up on Early American crafts. It will be sold at the sale table. Not destined for the block. For the newly married who find they have plenty of toast- ers and towels, but nothing in between, there are good sub- stantial chests of drawers, needing only a coat of paint to make them glisten. Kitchen chairs, too, and small tables. LEGAL NOTICE NOTICE ISHEREBY GIVEN that the partnership hereto- fore existing between Leroy J. Elliott and John J. Fedock in the conduct of a drug etc. business under the firm name of “HALL'S PHAR- MACY," located at Memorial Highway and East Center Street, Shavertown, Pa., has been dissolved by agreement of the parties.
