VIRGINIA HUGHES Mrs. Virginia Mae Hughes, 71, of Sutton Creek Road,, died Feb. 5 in Nesbitt Hospital where she had been admitted Jan. 31. The former Virginia Mae Bean was born in Stull. She was a graduate of Nesbitt Hos- pital School of Nursing, and was for many years in private practice of her profession in New York City. She was a member of Mt. Zion Methodist Church, and a member of the Harding Fire Department Auxiliary. Her husband William sur- vives. There is a sister, Mrs. Katie Klein, of Carverton. Services were conducted Saturday morning from the home, followed by burial at Memorial Shrine. Rev. Donald J. Schalk, pastor of the Car- verton Charge, officiated. PEARL GARDNER Pearl Gardner, 73, resident of Harveys Lake for the past three months, died Feb. 4 at General Hospital where she had been admitted three weeks earlier. She was a native of Wilkes- Barre, living in that area until moving to make her home with her sister, Mrs. Walter A. Cron, at Harveys Lake. She was educated in city schools and employed by Wilkes-Barre Lace Company for many years until its closing. Later she worked for Neisner’s, retiring in 1959. She was a member of East End Primi- tive Methodist Church. Burial was at Chapel Lawn, following services held on Fri- day from a Wilkes-Barre fu- neral home. ROLAND |. BOMBOY Roland I. Bomboy, 67, of Huntsville Road,” Huntsville, died Feb. in General Hospital. He was born in Wilkes- Barre, lived in Kingston for ‘16 years, and for the past 13 years was a resident of Huntsville Road. He was a former member of First Methodist Church of Kingston, and ‘a member of Amalgamated Transit Workers Union. Until retirement a year ago, he had been with Wilkes-Barre Transit Corporation, where he had been employed for 43 years. ; His wife, Louise C. Bomboy, died in 1966. He leaves a daighter, Mrs. Donald Eassen of Bethlehem; five grandchildren; a brother Francis C.
