Paul Macri of Wilkes-Barre, and Joe Mackliewicz of Larksville were inducted as new |. members. Jim Yoder, Pennsylvania Fish Commission representative, showed a movie entitled “The Horseshoe Nail”, a story of the Sus- quehanna River Valley, drought, floodin, ollution, etc., which was shown ts¥the group after the meet- ing. Dues was brought up and the group voted in favor of raising the annual dues to $5.00 and $2.00 for installation ceremonies. Winner of the fish pole raffle were; Fly Rod, line and reel - “L.B.J,” 81 John Street, Kingston. Spinning rod and reel - Joe Olenik, Shawnee. Spin cast rod and reel, John Parrish, Trucksville, There were also several door prizes, compliments of Caddie - LaBar. Approximately 85 members attended the meeting. Following the meeting, refreshments were enjoyed by all! Thanks Tanya. “Groovy Blues” A group of youngsters who have formed a 5 piece band and call it the “Grovy Blues”, directed by “Jackie” Link, Warden Place are engaged to play at the Harveys Lake Ski Lodge at Outlet Section, on April 7th from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. There will be a small admission fee. Tf the youngsters make good, they will continue to play at the lodge. So come on all you Rock and Roll fans and attend this dance! The band is open for social engagements. Airman Joseph J. Orzechowson son of r. and Mrs. Joseph E. Orzecho®son of RD 1, is a postal specialist with the Air Training Com- mand at Fort Benjamin Harrison, Ind. A gxraduate of Central Cath- olic 15: School, Kingston, he also attended Wilkes-Barre Business Col- lege before entering the Air Force. Boy Scouts and Explorers of Troop 331 attended the Hamid Morton Cir- cus which was held recently at the Kingston Armory. The boys were guests of the Trem Temple Uniform- ed Units of the Shrine. Scoutmaster Art West and Tom Smith accom- paned the boys. New York Trip . Carol Rotolo, First Street, along with other members of the St. Ann’s Orchestra, spent a day recently in New York City. Various places of interest were visited but Carol en- joyed ‘The Magic Flute” which played at the Metropolitan Opera House. The girls were guests of the St. Ann’s Faculty in appreciation for their efforts in making the re- , cent Concert the sucess it was. Robert ‘Schalm of Dallas, recently purchased the former O’Cennell’s Twin Lakes picinic grounds on Car- penter Road. Purchase of the Twin Lakes property was made from John F. O'Connell and his wife. Mr. Schalmg@y'so purchased the Colum- bia (Catering, Kingston from the O’connell family. yMorris Laks Dies Sympathy of this community is extended to Mrs. Mose Sirotkin on the death of her father Mr. Morris Laks of Harveys Lake and Bethle- hem. Mr. Laks died at the Muhlen- berg Medical Center in Bethlehem. He was a member of the Warden } Place Beach Association, and over seer of the children beach. Members of the Beach Association sent a basket of flowers to the Rosenberg Funeral Home, Wilkes-Barre. In- terment was in Ohavzedek Ceme- tery, Hanover. . Harveys Lake Legion Unit 967 met recently at Burkes Bar-B-Q Sunset. President Mildred Bozek pre- sided. Next meeting will be held on April 11th at Burkes Marie Capellin, and Mary Engler will be hostesses for the occasion. Easter Egg Hunt The Harveys Lake American Le- | gion Post 967 hed their Easter 5gg Hunt recently at the Lake Elemen- tary School Auditorium. At least a hundred youngsters joined in the hunt. Prizes were won by: 1st prize Walter Wesley, a large chocolate rabbit; 2nd prize, Mark Groblewski, medium size chocolate rabbit; and 3rd prize, Mark Pilger, a large cho- colate doll. No children went home empty handed. The Post would like to thank the women of the Auxiliary and Sc tmaster Art West and the Boy Sd@¥s of Troop 33- of Harveys Lake who assisted in the hunt, Cal- vin Strohl was general chairman, as- sisted by Leg Wodaski.
