Annual Wrestling Clinic To Be Held
At Wilkes College, August 8 -12
F Any boy" interested in attending |
the annual wrestling clinic at|
Wilkes College can’sign ‘up on Mon-
day, August 8, between 9 and 10 |
a. m. Registration will be held in |
the gym lobby. Boys from seventh |
through twelfth grades will be ac-
cepted.
* All phases of wrestling will be |
covered from very fundamental to |
advanced moves at the clinic which |
will be held at the Wilkes Gym-
nasium during the week of August |
8: through 12 with head coach {John | i
Reese conducting the program.
LeRoy Altitz, head ‘wrestling
coach at West Point, will again be
a guest clinician and will demon-
strate some of the moves that have
made his Army teams so successful.
Many boys from the Back Moun-
tain schools attend this clinic an-
nually. They find it to be of great
value when they go to the mats
during wrestling season. They learn
to develop techniques and to over-
come weaknesses they have found
in their style.

Church attended Camp Acahela last
week, July 24-30. They camped in
Blackfoot area, where they have
camped for ‘the last five years.
Many of the Boys advanced to the
next rank in Scouting. Merit badges
were earned in Camping, Fishing,
Basketry, Forestry, Indian Lore,
Public Health, Wildlife Management,
First Aid and Soil aand Water Con-
servation.
Jerry McDonald and Grant Davis
were elected by members of their
Troop to the Order of the Arrow,
a Scout Honor Campers Organiza-
tion. Bruce’ S. Davies Jr., Scout-
master, was elected by the Order
also.
The Ceremonies took place Thurs-
dy wre and many of the par-

ents attended. Mr. Davies and Jer-
ry took the Ordeal Thursday night
and Friday and were accepted into
full membership Friday night. Other
members of the Troop who belong
to the Order are: Bill Baker 3rd,
Marshall Rumbaugh, John ®Gager,
Bruce Davies 3rd, Charles Baker
and George Mahler.
Attending Camp were: Bruce Da-
vies 3rd, Kenneth L. Besecker, Ed-
ward Boltz, Richard Demmy, Jer-
ry McDonald, Herman Otto, Neal
Stetson, Charles and Douglas Was-
serott, Douglas Whitehead and Paul |
Sarnak,
Bruce Davies Jr. was unit leader
in charge of the Scouts during the
week. Charles Wasserott and Jim
McDonald assisted and stayed in
Camp several nights.

Service. were entertained
recently at the home of Mrs. Clar-
ence Grey. Mrs. Alfred Bandish, |
Spiritual Life Secretary, completed
the study course on the Life and
Journeys of Paul from the Book of)
Acts. Mrs. Ralph Rood presided at |
the business meeting where plans |
were completed for the Ham supper |
and Bazaar to be held Thursday, |
August 11.
Those attending wer: Mrs. Darrell
Loomis, Mrs. Alfred Bandish, Mrs.
Clifford Grey, Mrs. Almon Rood,
Mrs. Amos Swire, Mrs. Charles Wil-
liams and the hostess.
Mrs. Christina Frantz took her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Dend-
ler, to the Dendler reunion in Ber-
wick Sunday. Mr. Dendler was es-
pecially happy to see and visit
his 89 year old brother Casper
“Cappy” Dendler.

Ham Supper
Ruggles WSCS will serve a Ham
Supper ‘country | style”, in the
Church social room on Thursday
evening. Serving will start at 5:30
and continue until all are served.

ite kind of pie plus home made
rolls and all the ham, parslied po-
tatoes, succotash, peas, pickled cab-
bage you can hold. There will also
be many. bazaar items to choose
from, and baked goods and home
mode candy.
