ki} A variety shower, honoring Miss
Judie Clark, was held Sunday after-
noon in Kunkle Community Hall.
| Judie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Hiram Clark, Lake Carey, is the
ride-elect of Eugene Gaydos, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Gaydos,
Trucksville. They will be married
| on June 6, 1964 in St. Peter's Epis-
' copal Church, Tunkhannock.
The shower was given by Mrs.

aunts of Miss Clark. The buffet

Mrs. Robert Bradley, well-known
dance instructor, will serve as one
of the models for the Dallas Junior
Woman's Club’s Fashion Show,
Tuesday evening at 8 pm. at
Trucksville Methodist Church Edu-
cational Building.
Other local models appearing on
the hour and a half display of ap-
pealing summer fashions are Mrs.
Henry Moyer, Mrs. Robert Richard-
son, Mrs. OQ. Van Zimmerman, Mrs.
Sheldon Evans, Mrs. Charles Alla-
baugh, Miss Marlyne Lipfert.
The wide range of styles will he
described by Miss Eileen Hayes,
1 commentator and fashion coordina-
tor of the Boston Store, which is
furnishing all clothing and millin-
ery. Wigs will also be shown, cour-
tesy of the Pennolyn Shoppe.
Miss Marlyne Lipfert is chairman,
Mrs. Leonard Groboski,- co-chair-
man, Mrs. Joseph Borton, honorary
cchairman.
Presiding at the tea table will
be Mrs. Ross Lewin and Mrs. Bor-
ton.

Dean Lee Werts
Mr. and Mrs. David E. Werts,
R. D. 3, Wyoming, announce the
birth of a seven pound, ten ounce
son at Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-
Barre, on Wednesday, April 29.
There are two other children,

Gwendolyn Morgan, daughter of
Mrs. Frances Morgan, Dallas, R.D. 3,
was admitted to the Children’s
Hospital in Philadelphiz last week,
Her mother had hoped that the
visit was for a routine check up
but Dr. Friedman, the heart special-
ist felt Gwen's condition was grow-
ing worse and admitted her.
Medication will be given until
she is ready for another catheriza-|.
tion. If this proves unsatisfactory,
open heart surgery will be sched-
uled.
Gwendolyn’s mother asks that
her friends drop her cards to cheer
her waiting hours. Her address is

Miss Judy Polinski
Guest At Lovely Party
A bridal tea was held on Satur-
day afternoon at 2 P.M. in Center-
moreland Church social rooms hon-
oring Miss Judy Polinski, fiancee
of Clarence Schoonover, Center-
moreland. The ‘tea was given by
Mrs. A. Curtis Edwards, sister of
the future bridegroom and Miss
Midge Wheeler and Miss Marie
Bomba, wko will be the bride-
elect’s attendants. The wedding will
take place in Wyoming Avenue
Christian Church on May 30 at
2:30 P.M.
Tea table was attractively set
with a silver tea set and a brass
and copper coffee set owned by
Mrs. Marian Reeves, Centermore-
land. The tea set is a Samovar,
from Russia and purchased by Mrs.
Reeves in Iran. Silver candelabra
were complimented by yellow daf-
fodils and jonquils. The decorated
cupcakes of a colonial bouquet de-
sign were made by Mrs. Samuel
Margellina, Idetown.
The mothers of the couple, Mrs.
Beatrice Polinski and Mrs. Ruth
Schoonover poured.
Miss Dianne Pickett sang accom-
panied by Miss Judy Bergerstrasser.
Readings were given by Mrs. Mil-
dred Schray and piano solos by
Misses Connie and Gail Edwards.
Group singing was led by Mrs.
Frank Williams.
About 75 guests attended the
buffet lunch.
Donna M. Newcomb
Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Newcomb,
School Street, Shavertown, became
the parents of an eight pound,
daughter, Donna Mae, April 22 at
Nesbitt Hospital. There are three
other children Louise Carol, Clar-
ence, and Susan. Mrs. Newcomb is
the former Vivian Rosser, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Rosser, Kings-
ton. Mr. Newcomb is employed with
General Cigar.

Shavertown Couple Wed 45 Years
MR. AND MRS.
Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Yeust, 182
N. Main Street, Shavertown, cele-
brated their 45th wedding anni-
versary, Saturday, May 2.
Wed in Broad Street Methodist
Church, Pittston, by Rev. Alex
Decker, the couple were attended
by Mrs. Alice Decker and Miss Ma-
bel Decker.
Mrs. Yeust is the former Jennie
Lamoreaux, Kingston. Her husband
is a native of Wilkes-Barre.
The Yeusts have resided in the
Back Mountain for 30 years, the
last twelve of which have been
spent in ‘Shavertown.
Mr. Yeust was associated with
Glen Alden Coal Company for 42
years and is now employed by
Joyce Western Gas Lines. He re-
tired recently as Fire Chief of the
Shavertown Volunteer Company in
which he has been an active mem;
ber since moving to the community.
While a resident of Kingston he
served on, its fire fighting force for
16 years.
He is also a member of the Kings-
ton Township Ambulance Associa-
tion and a willing volunteer when
needed. He is a member of George
M. Dallas Lodge, F & AM, Blooms-
burg Congsistory and Back Mountain
Police Association.

Mrs. Yeust. recently completed six :
years as an officer of the Order
of the White Shrine of Jerusalem,
and is Junior Worthy High
Priestess.
Dallas Chapter, Order of the Eastern
Star, Police Auxiliary of Lehman,
and the Fire Auxiliary of Shavers
town.
Mr. and Mrs. Yeust are Hoi
of Shavertown Methodist Church.
The couple have traveled through-
out the U. S. and Canada, enjoying
many interesting points of interest.
Mr. Yeust in his spare time enjoys
the sport of hunting and is usually
successful in bringing down a fine
specimen.
Seven children were born to the

burg, who was born on his parents
5th anniversary; Marvin , at home;
Ralph, Fernbrook; Mrs. Joseph Ed-

tician at Fielding’s Beauty ‘Shop, at
home.
A family dinner was held Satur-
day in honor of the anniversary.
Now Mr. and Mrs. Yeust are looking
forward to the observance of their
golden wedding date.
