Donna Lee Givens daughter of
Mrs, Clarence Givens and the late
Mr. Givens, 910 West 8th St., West
Wyoming, was married October 19
to Arthur O. Owen, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Osmyn Owen, Wyoming RD 3.
The double ring ceremony was
performed at 2 p.m. by the Rev.
O’Neil in Shoemaker Chapel in West
Wyoming. Wedding music was
played by Donald Saunders, West
Wyoming.
Mrs. Willard Bidding, sister of
the bride was matron of honor. Mrs.
Paul Rishell, Carverton was best-
man. Willard Bidding and Clarence
Givens ushered.
The bride given in marriage by
her cousin, John Givens of Bunker
Hill, wore white bell-shaped street
length dress, with elbow length
sleeves. Her veil was attached to

a crown of seed pearls and she car-
ried a Colonial bouquet of white
roses and carnations.
Matron of honor wore blue street
length, dress styled like the brides’.
Dresses were made by Mrs. Roy
Meeker, sister of the bridegroom.
Mother of the bride chose teal
blue sheath dress and corsage of
pink carnations.
Mother of the groom selected
blue wool sheath, and a white car- |
nation corsage.
A reception was held at the home
of the bride after which the couple
left on. a wedding trip. For going
away the bride wore a black suit,
and black accessories, with white
corsage of rose buds and carnations.
The couple will reside at R.D. 3,
Wyoming.

A five pound ' daughter, Karen,
was born to Mr. and Mrs. Thomas
Spruth, Elmcrest Drive, Dallas, Oc-
tober 26 at General Hospital. There
are two sons, Steve, six and David,
three. Mr. Spruth is employed with
Bell Telephone Company.
Layaous Welcome Son
Mr. and Mrs. George Layaou,
Overbrook Road, RD 2, Dallas, an-
nounce the birth of a seven pound
six ounce son, Edward Brian, Oc-
tober 26 at General Hospital. There
are four other children, George,
nineteen, Jane, fifteen, Donald, four-
teen and Carol, seven. Mrs. Layaou
is the former Margaret Mikula,
Wilkes-Barre. Mr. Layaou is em-
ployed with Coalamatic, Trucksville.
Jeffery Lynn Gardiner
A nine pound twelve ounce son,
Jeffery Lynn, was born to Mr. and
Mrs. Stanley Gardiner, RD 1, Dal-
las, October 27 at General Hospital.
There are four other children, Ron-
ald, nineteen, Patricia, seventeen,
Barbara, nine and Robert, five. Mrs.
Gardiner is the former Carolyn
Brace, Kunkle. Mr. Gardiner is the
Dallas Township Assistant Chief of
Police.

Mr. and Mrs. John Smith,
Meadowecrest, Trucksville, became
the parents of an eight pound three
ounce daughter, Betty Jane, Oc-
| tober 27 at Nesbitt Hospital. There
are three other children, Mary Lou,
five, Douglas, three and Bruce, one.
Mrs. Smith is 2s former Margaret
Polk, Plains. r. Smith is a sales-
man.
Back Mountain Visitors
Mr. and Mrs. Harry J. Mathers,
Joliet, Ill., and the latter's sister,
Mrs. Laura Eck, were recent visit-
ors in Forty Fort, Trucksville and
Beaumont. Mr. Mathers is a former
resident of Outlet.

las by two daughters, Mrs. Dale
Denning, Plainview, Long Island,

Mrs. Alice Hier Race
Is Eighty Years Old
Mrs. Alice Hier Race, School
Road, Harvey’s Lake celebrated her
80th birthday on Wednesday, Nov-
ember 6, with a family dinner giv-
en by her children.
Mrs. Race was born and raised
in Plymouth, daughter of the late
Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Kerr. She
married William Hier on April 15,
1902 in St. Clements Episcopal
Church, Wilkes-Barre, Rev. Stone
officiating, Mr. Hier died on Jan.
21, 1932. She married Willard Race
on December 21, 1940 at his home
at Kunkle. He passed away on
August 5, 1952. She has 2 ¢hild-
ren. Mrs. Roy Tyson and Herman
Hier both of Harvey's Lake. She
is a member of the Glenview P. M.
Church :,Fernbrook.
Mrs. Race’s health is very good
and she spends most of her time
knitting and taking care of her
flowers.
She lives alone and has resid-
ed at the Lake for 42 years.

Dinner Meeting At Club
The Harvey's Lake Women's Ser-
vice Club will meet for dinner at I-
rem Temple Country Club Thurs-
day evening, 6 p. m., at which time
six new members wil} be welcomed.
Mrs. Charles Williams will preside.

will be an interesting program.

the former Linda Ann Grey, a 1963
graduate of Mansfield State Col-
lege. Mr. Montross is employed by
General Electric Company, Johnson
City, N. Y. and attends Broome
Technical College.

Cook, Rivington Street, Roselle,
N. J., to Rudolph Jay Morgan, Eliz-
abeth N. J. on September 21. The
ceremony “was performed in the
First Baptist Church, Roselle, N. J.,
by Rev. Vernon Ross. A dinner and
reception in the Colonial Room of

lowed. .

the full skirt a semi-sweep. Her
matching lace mitts were opera
length and she wore a crown of
sequins with a shoulder 6 veil of
ice blue French Illusion. She car-
ried a cascade bouquet of ice blue
tinted lilies of the valley centered

Matron of honor wore a floor-
length strapless sheath of pink
satin with pink lace over blouse
and mits. She wore a matching
satin head piece with a face veil
of pink illusion and carried a cas-
cade’ bouquet of pink carnations.
The flower girl's dress was al-
so of pink satin with short hoop
skirt and cummerbund. Her head
piece was of pink satin with match-
ing face veil of illusion and she
carried a nosegay of assorted flow-
ers centered with pink.
Mother of the bride wore a shift,
opera mitts, and hat of ivory sa-
tin brocade. Her corsage was of
champagne orchids. n
The bride designed and made
the gowns and headpieces of the |]
bridal party and her mother. Ring
bearer carried a pillow of ice blue
satin, smocked by the bride's mo-
ther.
The happy couple have returned
from a ten day tour of New York
State which includede a visit to
the traditional honeymoon spot,
Niagara Falls.
Mr. Morgan, an upholsterer at
Simmons, has been in their employ
for the past twenty eight years.
Identical Twins, 2 Sets,
Grandmothers Doing Well
Three families of the Back Moun-
tain area are bursting with pride
this week over the announcement
of the birth of identical twin sons
to Mr. and Mrs. Richard Bonomo,
Sweet Valley.
The boys arrived on Tuesday,
November 5 at Nesbitt Memorial
Hospital forty-five minutes apart,
weighing 6 pounds, 2 ounces, and
6 pounds, 3 ounces at birth.
Mrs. Bonomo is the former Lor-
elie Briggs, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Harold Briggs, Sweet Valley.
Her sister, Loydene Wesley, has
identical twin daughters, 2% years
old.
Mr. Bonomo is the son of Mr.
and Mrs. Tony Bonomo, Dallas. His
mother is also a twin. Richard is
associated with his father and mo-
ther who own and operate Crown
Imperial Bowling Lanes in Dallas.
At the time of publication, the
new Bonomos had not been named
and mother, father, sons and grand-
parents were all doing well.

Colors Investiture will be held
Saturday November 9 at 4:30
for those who were unable to at-
tend Grand Assembly to receive
the honor. The Investiture will be
followed by a dinner at Irem Tem-
ple Country Club for all members
in Northeastern Pennsylvania who
have received the Grand Cross;
