Harvest Moon Ball Saturday evening

Harry Lefko heads ‘committee for
the festivities. Reservations may be

Men of Music will play for danc-
ing fqrom 9 to 2 with surprise dance
numbers appearing on the evening's
program.
The public is invited. Proceeds
will go to underprivileged children’s

Alice Denison Martin, Chepachet,
R. L., and Bruce R. Zeiser, Provi-
dence R. I, will be united in mar-
riage in Chepachet Union Church.

Bruce is a former Wilkes-Barre
resident, son of the late Harry H.
Zeiser and Mrs. Zeiser, now of Dal-
las, and has many friends in the
Back Mountain Area, He is president
of the Nicholson File International
S. A. and Vice President of the
Nicholson File Company of Provi-
dence.

two weeks Caribbean cruise.

Has Third Birthday
Little Floyd Kim, son of

Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Shaw,
Main Road, Sweet Valley, announce
the ' birth of a son, Aaron, born
October 22, at Mercy Hospital. The
new arrival weighed six pounds-
nine ounces. There are three other
chlidren, six year old Tim, Jr;
Jodie, four, and Chris, two. Mrs.
Shaw is the former Jean Roman-
owski, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Thomas Romanowski, Nanticoke.
Mr. Shaw is employed at Pagnotti
Construction Company and is the
son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond G.
Shaw, Sweet Valley.
Have 3rd Son
Mr, and Mrs. George S. Barski,
Sweet Valley, announce the birth
of their third son, George Stephen,
Jr. The young man arrived at Nes-
bitt Hospital October 15 and weigh-
ed six pounds twelve ounces.
His brothers are Robert, six, and
Randy, nineteen months. Mrs. Bar-
ski is the former Betty Morris.
Rainbow Girls To Meet
Charles E. James Memorial As-
sembly of Rainbow for Girls will
meet at Trucksville Methodist
Church Educational Building Thurs-
day, November 7.
Members are asked to bring can-
ned _ or non-perishable goods for
use in Salvation Army Thanksgiving

November 5th, a Guest Day Smor-
gasbord Luncheon will be held at
1145 A. M. in the social rooms of
the Shavertown Methodist Church.
YMCA members enrolled in this
series of classes are requested to call
Miss Carson for reservations at 675
1278 and to bring a covered dish
specialty to serve eight. All mem-
bers who do not wish to contribute
a covered dish may make a donation
for their lunch.

A seven pound, twelve ounce
son, Gary Dieken, was born October
17, at Nesbitt Hospital, to' Mr. and
Mrs. Louis Matura, Dallas. There is
another son, Louis. Mrs. Matura is
the former Sieglinde Dieken, Bel-
more, Long Island, N. Y.

Mr. and Mrs. James A. Cook,

the birth of a seven pound, five!
ounce son, James, Jr., October 17,
at General Hogpital. There are
three other children, Arlen, Karen,

A daughter, Jennifer, 7 lbs:-6 oz.,
was born to Mr. and Mrs. Robert
Jones, 216 Chestnut Street, Shaver-
town, October 20 at General Hos-
pital. This is the couple’s first child.

Mrs. Maude Robbins Amazes
All By Her Vitality At 91
Mrs. Maude Robbins, Harris Hill
Road observed her 91st birthday on
October 23, celebrating the occasion
at a surprise party given by her
friends. /
A resident of the Back Mountain
since 1890, when she moved into
her present home. Mre. Robbins
has a deep love for her adopted com-
munity.
There were only three homes in
sight when she took up residence in
the Kingston Township community
and the Lehigh WValley Railroad
had just been installed
through the region four years pre-
viously.
Born in New Columbus, daughter
of William J. and Mary Ellen Robin-
son Robbins, the nonagenarian se-
lected as her mate, a man of the
same name. Her brother likewise
was christened William J. Robbins.
Her husband, a well known con-
tractor, passed away in 1955. Four
children were born to the couple,
two of whom survive: Robert E.,
Wilmington, Del., associated with
Dupont Corporation and Mrs. Philip
Anderson, White Plains, N. Y., em-
grandchildren. | -
Mr. Robbins is in fairly good
health but bothered with a touch |
of arthritis. A woman of diversified
interests she is extremely well vers-
ed in current events and a student
of the Bible, her church affiliation
being with Trucksville Free Metho-
dist Church.
Tucked away among her house-
hold treasures are dozens of lovely
quilts and rugs she has made in her
spare time, enjoying this art with |
crocheting and other types of hand
work.
She likewise was interested in
gardening and just this spring was
able to get out in her garden to
!
putter around.
A regular reader of the Dallas
Post, she enjoys best the column,
| “Rambling Around,” written by D.
I A. Waters.
Mrs. Robbins is amazing for her
| years and believes that many in-
terests help one to frow old grace-
| fully.

Lake Silkworth were united in mar-
riage Friday evening, October 18,
in Maple Grove Methodist Church,
Pikes Creek.
The ceremony was performed by
Rev. James Garrahan.
Escorted by her father, the bride
wore a lovely white mohair suit, a
nose tip veil, and a corsage of white
roses.
Miss Irene Slater, Sweet Valley
was maid of honor and selected a
beige walking suit with matching
roses.
Paul Goodwin, brother of the
bridegroom, served as best man.
Following the ceremony, the cou-
ple left on a trip to the Poconos.
On Sunday, October 20, a recep-
tion was held at the home of the
bride.
Both Mr. and Mrs. Goodwin are
graduates of Lake-Lehman High
School and are employed at Com-
monweaith Telephone Company.
They are residing at the home of
the bride’s parents at Dallas RD 2.

tained at a Hallowe'en dance on
Saturday evening.
Terri Jo Ditlow and Diane Hoo-
ver served as co-hostesses. The
home was attractively decorated
with orange and black streamers,
black cats and orange pumpkins.
