__ SECTION A — PACE 5
DALLAS, PENNSYLVANIA

CROWN IMPERIAL LANES
BOWLING
NEWS
Off again! A new year and a new
bowling season for many of the
leagues at Crown Imperial Lanes.
‘I am back with the column after
a two-weeks’ lapse, due partially to
the lack of news with many leagues
off for the holidays. We, at The
Dallas Post, have suffered a great
losgy during this period with the
. of Howard W. Risley, our
" good friend and editor. For the
past few years, Mr. Risley has left
space available for mews of bowling
events of this area and the spot is
there to fill.
There is much to catch up on and
I will try to fill in the happenings
of leagues ‘that have been active
during the past weeks. First, I'd
like this opportunity to wish every-
one a Happy and Prosperous New
Year.

21-Point 3rd Period
Paves Way To Victory
Dallas Senior High hoopsters
opened their North League cam-
paign Tuesday night with a 57-40
win over Central Luzerne .Jointure,
using a 21-point surge in the third
period to win going away.
With Gauntlett and Letts combin-
ing for 34 points, and both playing
a strong game off the backboards,
Dallas notched its 7th win in eight
games.
Cobb, Martin and Sinicrope com-
pleted the scoring but it was some
fine ball-hawking on the part of
these three that set up numerous
baskets by the Mountaineers.
Losing many scoring chances be-
cause of poor ball handling, Dallas
held a 13-5 lead at the end of the
first quarter, and by halftime, built
up a 10-point margin 29-19.
