Forest Habblett shot his thirty- second consecutive deer, an eight- pointer at Red Rock last week. From what this correspondent hears this is the record for this Township. Speaking of deer. There have been some exciting tales told, but I think this one tops them all. Dur- ing the blizzard which caused the snow to drift and whirl around on December 7, Harold Kittle, trying desparately to get a deer, decided to brave the elements and headed down his back yard toward the stone quarry on Chase Road but the storm was getting too much for him. He turned around and headed for home when he spied an accom- modating 3-point buck standing in his rear yard. - Harold was able to. sneak up on the deer and brought him down with one shot. Unlike other hunters who have to labor to drag their kill often great distances, Harold was able to carry his right to his back door. Talk about luck. Sunday afternoon, three doe and a buck, in search of food, were in the Frantz’ apple orchard along Chase Road. ~ Christmas Party for children of Huntsville Methodist Church will be in the Church Parlors Saturday afternoon, beginning at 2. ~ Mrs. Fred Weaver, Huntsville, was hostess to WSCS Sewing Circle December 13.
