Sponsors Variety Show Friday eve-
ning, Richard Williams, a senior,
turned in a remarkable performance
when faculty member Calvin Kan-
yuck was taken ill.
Mrs. James Worth, general chair-
man, was at her wit's end when
Dick stepped into the breech. From
close watch at rehearsals, Dick was
able to pick up the pieces, and steer
Staged to raise money for band
uniforms, -the show was presented
in Lehman elementary cafeteria,
the former high school gymnasium
which is smaller than it once was,
but retains its large stage.
The capacity crowd was de-
lighted with the variety acts, and
impressed with Dick’s smooth per-
formance. Dick had only one day’s
notice to prepare for a stellar role.
Mr. Kanyuck, was laid low with a
twenty-four hour blitz which is
going around, and was unable to
take his classes on Friday.
The show embraced a wide range
of talent.

A panel discussion on “What a
good school health program should
be” attracted only a dozen people
to a meeting staged by Citizens
Committee for Better Schools last
Tuesday evening in Dallas Senior
High [School library. Dr. Richard
Potter and Margaret Murphy,
both of the Health Department,
Lee, the regional dental officer and
Walter Gilbert, supervisor of sani-
tation, presented facts. Morris
Slater presided.
Horseshoe 4-H Club
Back Mountain Horseshoe 4-H
Club met on Saturday at Lehman,
Fire Hall for a regular business
meeting and demonstration on the
horses hoof given by Linda Tag.
Present were: Linda Tag; acting
president, Judy Crispell; Dave
Spencer, Leslie Vivian, Erica Vivian,
Harry Goeringer, Val Tag, Nancy
Hughes, Ann Lacy, Nancy Crispell,
and Mrs. Tony Bogdon. '
Quartet proved popular,
Twirlers accompanied playing of
the National Anthem at the be- |
