of Walter Barthett, on Dietz Moun-
tain on ‘Wednesday afternoon.

Mr. and Mrs. Walter Galka Jr.
announce the birth of a daughter,
Tuesday November 6th, at General
Hospital. This is their third child.
Mrs. Richard Traver was taken to
General Hospital by Noxen ambu-
lance on Monday, 4 p. m. with
a ruptured appendix. She submitted
to an operation on Monday night.
Mrs. Urban Womer, Fairless Hills,
Pa. is staying with’ the Walter
Galka family while Mrs. Galka is
in the hospital.

the Lawrence Races, on Sunday.
W.S.CS. of Noxen Methodist
Church will hold its annual bazaar
(on Friday the 16th in the Church
parlors, The following booths will
be on display: candy, baked goods,
| aprons, shirts, fish pond, fancy
| work. There will be a turkey sup-
per worth all the ‘trimmings, serv-
ing to start at 5:30 p.m. Also a
{lunch at noon.

Mrs. Elvin Bean were Saturday
night dinner guests at the home of

|Swarm Of Brownies
Descends On Post
| A swarm of Brownies descended |
| upon the Dallas Post Tuesday after- |
| noon, along with a couple of small |
boy visitors, ‘to make the guided |
tour of the composing room, the]
printery, and the place where pub-
lications are mailed.
Warned not to go near the cut-
ting machine in the basement, not |
to fall into the pit beneath the |
newspaper press, and not to get too |
close to the hot lead used in the
linotype machines, children separ-
ated into two groups, each with
enough leaders to insure safety.
One group, convoyed by Don
Weidner, visited the equipment in
the basement and the press room,
while the second group saw what
happens when a piece of “copy” is
delivered to the linotype machine.
Editor Howard Risley instructed the
second group.
Fifteen minutes later, the groups
changed location, to permit each
child to see everything.
Mrs. Russell Lawry, leader, had
made arrangements late in October
for date that would be convenient.
These children signed up when
