man of the Presbyterian ministry,
died Saturday morning at Daytona
Beach, Florida. Dallas people who
had known him well during his long
residency here, had marvelled at his

of Okonite Company, he lived in
Trucksville most of his life. He was
a member of Trucksville Methodist
Church.
In his earlier days, he raised dogs,
boarded dogs on Davis Street which
was then farmland and acted as
judge in dog shows.

the Old Ladies Home on Carey Ave-
nue. Another. sister, Mrs. Herbert
M. Steele, lives in New Jersey.

rived Saturday, a few hours after
Dr. Flack’s death. Agnes flew in
from the Virgin Islands. The other
children congregated for final rites
at Daytona.

Mrs. Lydia Fehr, 86,
Had Connections Here

Mrs. Russell Fehr, wife of the late
Rev. William H. Fehr’ of Dushore,
passed away Sunday evening at the
Good Shepherd Home in Allentown.
Mrs. Fehr, who would have been
86 on December 2, was the mother
of Mrs. Leonard Heverly, Skyview
Avenue Dallas, and had resided with
her for a number of years.
The former Lydia Rohn of Naz-
areth, she and Pastor Fehr were
well known in the Back Mountain,
her husband having served a pas-
torate in Dushore for 23 years. He
was a former president of the North-
eastern Synod of the Lutheran
Church in Pennsylvania.
In addition to her daughter, Mrs.
Heverly, she is survived by these
children: Mrs. Geoge Kahler, Naz-
areth; Mrs. Paul Waltz, Endwell, N.
Y., Joseph Fer, Johnson City, N.
Y.; Mrs. Wandell Arey, Hazlett, N.
J.; Leonard J. Fehr, Allentown.
Services will be conducted this
afternoon in Nazareth.

Lady of Mt. Carmel Church at Lake
Silkworth, who lost his father, John
Banas, last Wednesday. Mr. Banas,
86, died in a Philadelphia hospital.

Dies At Home In Noxen
Joseph E. Hackling, 82, retired
leather ‘roller for Noxen Tannery,
died Saturday morning at his home
in Noxen after a two weeks illness.
Services were conducted Monday
afternoon from the Nulton Funeral
Home by Rev. Wesley Kimm, pas-
tor of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church
in Noxen. Burial was in St. Ga-
briel’s' Cemetery, Coles Creek.
Mr. Hackling was born in Sweden,
son of the late John and Helen
Lindquist Hackling. He came to
this country as a boy, lived in
Noxen for thirty-five years.
Surviving are his widow, the for-
mer Louella DeWald, three sons,
William, Reading; Joseph, Newark,
N. J.; and Carl, at home; daughters,
Mrs. Joseph Arciola, New York
City; Mrs. Millard Pegg, Blooms-
burg; Mrs. Frank Shanberger, El-
mira, N. Y.; Mrs. Thomas Miller,
Towanda; Mrs. Margaret Kohler,
Wilmington, Del.; Mrs. James Pat-
ton and Mrs. Stella Dean, Noxen;
sixteen grandchildren, thirteen
greatgrandchildren; a sister, Mrs.
Anna DeWald, Bloomsburg, and a
