Mr. Kester, a native of Jackson Township, and Ethel Green of Par- sons were married June 12, 1914, by the Rev. Mr. Cooke in Parsons Primitive Methodist Church. For a year after their marriage they resided in, Jackson Township and then moved to Plains where they lived for twenty years, before moving to Franklin Township in 1936. Mr. Kester retired two years ago in April after forty-five years of service with Miner Hillard Milling Company. They are members of Orange Methodist Church. Always interested in rural life, Mr. Kester has made a hobby of growing beautiful apples, but best of all Mr. and Mrs. Kester have cul- tivated many friendships as well as gardens. They have two children Buelle Kester and Mrs. Paul Mahler, both of whom live nearby and grand- children can drop in at anytime for some of grandma’s good cooking. There are five grandchildren and one great grandchild. One grandchild, Roger Bellas, the son of Mrs. Mahler has lived with his grandparents since the death in an accident of his father the late Earl Bellas when he wag three. Other grandchildren are Robert Kester, and a great grandson, Mar- tin, Binghamton; Wayne Kester and Sheryl Kester, Orange and Bonnie Lee Mahler, Orange.
