‘Noxen Methodist Church Lays Plans |
‘For Burning Of Mortgage Nov. 13
Noxen Methodist Churh was ors
ganized in 1940. The first class
was formed at Bowman's Creek.
Later, services were held in the
little white schoolhouse at Noxen.
An edifioe was built and dedicated
lin December of 1886, and additions
were made three years later.
The church was remodelled in
1955, the formal opening taking
place March 15, 1955, during the
pastorate = of Rev. Underwood.
Bishop Fred Pierce Corson was
| guest of honor at a dinner.
A heavy windstorm damaged the
church spire some years ago, mak-
ing necessary a reduction in height
of the belfry.
