Spring will finally arrive Monday.
It will be welcome more this year
than in any previous season in our
lifetime. This winter will go down
in history as one of the worst.
Gary Cooper, Jr., son of Mr. and
Mrs. Gary Cooper, Sr., was rushed
to Nesbitt Memorial Hospital Friday,
suffering ‘from periodic blackouts.
This also happened to be his 9-
month birthday. He is undergoing
tests.
BA Class of Huntsville Methodist
Church will meet Saturday night at
the Church. It will conduct a Bake
Sale at Boyd Whit's Store, Dallas,
on March 24. Mrs. John Fielding will
be chairman.
Elmer Laskowski, Township Sup-
ervisor, is up and around after
suffering from an attack of Grippe.

Meriam Glace of Kingston over the

is recuperating after an attack of Flu.
Charles F. Hay, Jackson Road,
reports a large flock of birds win-
tered at his place and that he sort
of conducted a ‘‘Smorgosbord’ for
them all through the tough winter
months through the use of his bird
feeding pens. }
PFC John Headman, stationed ‘at
Fort Gordon, Georgia, will complete
his six months training on May 27.
He was transferred from Fort Knox
to Fort Gordon on February 6.

‘Mrs. Fred Gabel reports that an
eight-year goose on their farm pre-
sented them with the largest goose
egg she had ever seen. It was
twelve inches in circumference. The
goose lays an egg every other day.
They have two sets of geese, two
ganders and two geese, one set being
four years old and the other eight
years old.
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph DeCesaris,
owners of Spot Lite Golf Course on
Chase Road, are contemplating
opening their course early in April
depending on the weather. Their
miniature golf course is laid out in
a beautiful setting.
Congratulations to Mrs. Adrian De
Marco, Sutton Road, who celebrated
her birthday, Saturday with a
family dinner. Sunday the DeMar-
co’s had as visitors, Mr. and Mrs.
Anthony Schlach and children,

Berwick Hospital where he. under-
went an operation for a hernia. His
brother, Randie, had undergone a
similar operation.
Mrs. Albert Sherman, who re-
turned to her job as physi¢al thera-
pist at Retreat Hospital last Monday
after being home for a week with
fell at the Hospital Friday,
bruising her left leg and shoulder.
She recovered sufficiently to leave
for Norristown to attend the State
Clinic for Institutional Activity,
being held at Norristown State Hos-
pital all this week. She will return
tomorrow.

in to pay their respects to the hon-
ored guest. A delicious birthday
dinner was served and the usual
birthday cake was on hand.
Edward H. Edwards, head football
coach, and Arthur Nuss, assistant
coach of Lake-Lehman Schools, were
guests of Dr. Louis Thomas, Lake
Silkworth, at a Football Coaches
Clinic at the Geisinger Memorial
Hospital, Danville," on Saturday.
More than 225 coaches and team
doctors attended the Clinic which
brought means of recognizing several | |
kinds of recreations to injuries re-
ceived by athletes, and the manner
in which such injuries should be
treated on the field. Such was the
interest shown by all who attended
that it was said, “ You could hear
a pin drop.” In order to accommo-
date coaches and doctors who were
unable to get into the Clinic on Sat-
urday, the Hospital has scheduled a
similar clinic on or about: April 8.
Coach Edwards stated that every
coach in any branch of sports should
attend one of these clinics.
Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs.
Ziba Smith, Jr. on the birth of a
son; Ziba III, born at General Hos-
pital March 8. Ziba III weighed
7 pounds 10 ounces and measured
twenty-one inches. He is the sixth
generation of Smiths to live on the
Smith Farm, which was purchased
by their forefather during the Civil
War, from money received from his
enlistment in the Union Army and
for money paid to him for serving
the enlisstment of another man’s
son, a custom which prevailed then.
The Smiths have three other chil-
dren, Crystal Joi, five, Jewel Ann,
three and Melody Rose, two. Mrs.
Smith is the former Florence Yocha-
vitch of Sweet Valley. The Smith
deed is one of the oldest in the Coun-
try covering iproperty remaining in
the hands of the same family.
Robert Joseph of Leonardi, N. J.
and his fiance, Bonnie Bowers of
Rahway, were visitors at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Ziba Smith last week.
