Born in Denmark, the former Mary Morgansen, she came to this country when: she was eighteen and settled in Wilkes-Barre. She married Oliver Phéebey, a miner, who came | here from England. Mr. Phebey was killed fifty-four years ago in Con- yngham and she later married Wil- liam Chappell. The couple moved to the home she and the Howes now occupy in ‘Shavertown thirty-seven years ago. Mr. Chappell died in 1945. She is in excellent health, thor- oughly enjoys life and had a lovely birthday surrounded by six of her eight children and their families: Mrs. R. B.
