Laura Smith and Mrs. Ruth Harrison are among the committee members. The Public is welcome. Mrs. Ruth Harrison, Laura Smith and Mrs, Celeste Treible journeyed to Conyngham last Friday to visit Mrs. (George Learn. I read with considerable interest in last week’s Post that the Penn- sylvania State Highway Department intended to resurface the road from Chase Corners to the Huntsville Dam. This is indeed good news and will go a long way in removing a bad condition, but this writer feels they should start at the top of Larksville Mountain and resurface all the way to Huntsville Dam as this portion of the road is also like a washboard, not counting the pot holes and rolls which you cannot avoid when driv- ing over it. In view of the talk, which has been going for a long time, of im- proving Harveys Lake Highway, it would seem only good sense that the State should first place in good condition, the alternate routes which the traveling public will be forced to use during the time the improvement is taking place. Larksville Mountain Road, which already carries a lot of traffic bound for Harveys Lake and the State Park at Red Rock, will be burdened with this additional traffic and right now, this road is in a terrible condi- tion, I know, I drive it every day. The State will be in for some just | criticism for their delay in fixing this road its entire length. With the November Elections in the offing, we should get some kind of action, al- though as I have been trying to point out and which all of us who B. A.
