Wyoming {Westmoreland Defeats Fairview Lake-Lehman opened its regular i league season with an impressive 63-53 win over the Cowboys from West Wyoming. Putting together a fast break and fine rebounding in the second quar- ter the local five built up a com- manding lead and led by as many as seventeen points midway through the period, they held a 39-26 half- time advantage. The third period was slow with neither team able to put together any type of offense and the period ended with the Scotties leading, 50-34. The fourth quarter was a different story though as the visitors started to click and quickly cut the margin to nine points. Dallas continued to show their scoring supremacy as they took a commanding 21-5 edge in the first period and increased their lead to 47-15 by intermission. By the end f | of the third quarter they had in- creased their margin twenty more points as they outscored the home club in the stanza 27-7, and led 74-22. The reserves saw plenty of 8 | action in the final period and still continued to increase the lead as they once again outscored the home forces 22-14. Leading the scoring parade was Cooper with 30, Letts 23 and Mol- lahan with 17. Aton was the only one in double figures for the losers as he tallied 18. We're back on schedule at The Dallas Post and the leagues are back in action at Crown Imperial Bowling Lanes. While most leagues were not scheduled during the holidays, the lanes were open every day for open bowling and many families and groups of friends took advantage of the opportunity. Some news was turned in to me before the Christmas holidays be- gan, but because of our irregular schedule, I was unable to get it in the paper. At the halfway mark in the BACK MOUNTAIN FIREMEN’S League, Lehman A was leading the league with 49 points followed by Jackson A, 45; Dallas A, 44; Lehman B, 38. E. Carey, Shavertown A, became the first man to crack 600 this season with 206-211-183. L. Harvey, Leh- man C, set a new high series of 609 with a 235-214-160. Lehman A had a tough opponent in Lehman C and were lucky to share 2 points. Dallas A took 4 from Franklin and Lehman B took over fourth place by trouncing Trucksville B. The HARVEYS LAKE WOMEN'S CLUB League, on December 16, had the Pines leading with 33 games and the Poplars second with 28. The Pines had’ a total of 2136 pins that night and Dot Finn rolled 202-533. Casterline Hauling was leading the GEORGE SHUPP League on De- cember 29 with 47% points; Kem- merers Garage was next with 43 and the Crusaders, with 40, were in third place. The Crusaders hit 955 in a single game and Kemmer- ers Garage had 2794 total pins. L. Yankoski had a single 230 and T. Hazinski had a 585 series. The Carderettes rolled high games of 655 and 1854 total pins. in the NATONA GIRLS League December 23. The Modernettes were leading the league with 36% points. G. Dungey had a 199 game and Saddington, 198. On December 19, Hoover had in- dividual high with 220-558; Garris hit 208-542; and E. Dungey had 208-519. A report from HARVEYS LAKE WOMEN’S CLUB League shows the Pines in the lead with 40 points, followed by the Poplars with 33 and Spruces with 32.
