Blue and white replaces the old orange and black of Kingston Township and the red and white of Dallas Township, color combinations that once symbolized intense rivalry between the students of those schools. > The student body of the combined schools selected the new colors and picked the nickname “Mountaineers” for its athletic teams. This year for the first time these students are attending Senior High School at Westmoreland and Junior High School at the Dallas Township building. | Also for the first time a complete Junior High School program of athletics, music and activities is being inaugurated. These teams and musical organizations are equipped with new uniforms. One hundred and four Junior High School boys were out for football (seventy-eight of them are shown in the lower right hand picture.) These boys, playing on teams of equal weight, will have an opportunity to enjoy competitive football at an earlier age than ever before.
