Edith Templin Has Full House For Weekend Mrs. Edith Templin, Woodlawn | street, Dallas, entertained all her children at a series of birthday dinners over the weekend. Philip flew in from Pittsburgh Friday en route to New York City where he gave a talk on Wednesday. The William Templins and their four children, Linda, Edith, Billy and Jacqueline drove up from Sussex where Bill is a ‘teacher. Bill was celebrating a birthday. Fred, who graduated from Bloomsburg Teach- ers College in January and is teach- ing in Belvidere, N. J., camc home for the weekend. The Fred Ecks and the Tom Templins of Shaver- town dropped in for snacks and meals. Practically all were snowbound and the very happy reunion lasted until Tuesday! Flossie Laffin, Honored Bt Going Away Party Flossie Laffin was guest of honor at a ‘goin’ away pajama party’ on Thursday night at the home of Pat Bialogowicz. The girl friends bidding her goodbye were Beverly Crispell, Linda Grey, Peggy Coole, Sandy Engleman, Nancy Bean, Connie Smith, and the hostess. Flossie and her family are moving to Westover, Pennsylvania. Mr. and Mrs. John Martin, High- land Avenue, Trucksville, have an- nounced the birth of a baby girl at Nesbitt Hospital on February 13. Dr. and Mrs. John H. Doane, Ide- town, have returned from Glenside | where they visited their son and daughter-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. John H. Doane and got acquainted with their new granddaughter, Alison Horton. The younger Doane’s have three other daughters, Leigh, Hilary and Cynthia. Mrs. Doane is the for- mer Hilda Hogg, daughter of the late Dr. E. W. Hogg, a former Back Mountain summer resident. At a very pretty wedding Satur- day, February 1, at 1 o'clock, Nancy Inman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Inman, Cedar Street, Shav- ertown, became the bride of Earl Hummel, son of Mrs. Marian Hum- mel and the late Albert Hummel of | Broomall, Pa., former Shavertown residents. Rev. Robert DeWitt Yost per- formed the double ring ceremony before an altar flanked with palms, vases of white carnations and light- ed tapers. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore floor length gown of lace and net over white satin, styled with Queen Ann collar, long tight sleeves tapered at the wrist and full bouffant skirt. Her finger- tip veil fell from a crown of irides- cents and seed pearls and she car- ried a bouquet of white roses and orchids. Mrs. Kenneth Inman was her sis- ter-in-law’s matron of honor and Nancy Croman and Merlyn Hoeg of Shavertown, bridesmaids. = They selected identical ballerina length gowns of blue lace fashioned with Miss Nancy Inman Becomes Bride Of Former Local Man round necklines, short sleeves and blue satin Cumberbunds with huge bow sashes. ' They wore matching tight fitting horse hair hats and carried bouquets of yellow roses. Mrs. Inman, mother of the bride, chose ice blue satin sheath, white accessories, and shoulder bouquet of yellow roses, and Mrs. Hummel, mother of the bridegroom, navy silk street dress, white accessories and yellow roses. Best man was Kenneth Inman, brother of the bride, and ushers, James Jeffrey of Wilkes-Barre, and William Harris of Plains. Following the ceremony, a re- ception was held at Castle Inn and the couple left for Florida. Mrs. Hummel is a graduate of Westmoreland High School. She has been employed by Miners National Bank in Wilkes-Barre. Mr. Hummell was also graduated from Westmore- land High School and Pennsylvania State University. He has accepted a position with the Philco Company in Philadelphia. The couple is residing at 316 Langford Road, Broomall. Country Fair Planned For Lake-Noxen School A gala, festive Country Fair will be sponsored by the teachers, Par- ent Teacher Association and the Alumni of Lake-Noxen High School next Friday. Mrs. Raymond Garinger is chairman.
