Scott, Easton, will spend the holidays with her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Howard W. Risley, Huntsville Road, Dallas. They will all spend the Christmas weekend in New York City. Leighton Jr. will fly to Cuba for the holidays. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Clark and Dick and Sandra, Sterling Avenue, Dallas, will spend Christmas at Bangor with Mrs. Clark’s family. Lucille Bittenbender who has been so critically ill at the home of her sister and brother-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. Alvin Funke, Ashley, is stead- ily improving. Ernest Stair, former Dallas boy, student at Union College, Barbour- ville, Ky., will spend the holidays with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Stair, now of Wilkes-Barre. Mrs. Helen Clemow, former local resident, now of Forty Fort, is a patient at Nesbitt Hospial where she is suffering from a misplaced verte- brae as a result of a fall. Jack Berti who has been stationed at Camp Gordon, Ga., will spend the holidays with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Norti Berti, Franklin * Street, Dallas. After New Year’s he returns to camp for another month’s training—then home for good! Cards have been received from Mrs. H. H. Zeiser and Mrs. W. J. Smith who arrived in St. Petersburg on Thursday. They say the weather is lovely now but that all the early vegetables and fruits were frozen last week. Richardson, Terrace Drive, Dallas, will celebrate their fiftieth wedding anniversary with a family dinner at the Richardson home on Christmas Day. Mrs. Kane is the former Jennie Keller of Stroudsburg. Mr. Kane is son of the late Mr. and Mrs. M. J. Kane of Scranton. The couple was married in Scranton on December 27, 1907 and went to housekeeping there where Mr. Kane was in the music business, teaching violin and conducting orchestras and bands. After an accident in which he in- jured his hand, Mr. Kane and his wife moved to Forty Fort and he lantic and Pacific Stores. While in the Valley, he was a member of the Wilkes-Barre Symphony Orchestra. - After twenty-five years with the A. and P. Mr. Kane retired and the couple returned to Scranton, where they both take an active part in the Asbury Methodist Church. They are in excellent health. They have only one child, Grace Richardson and her three children, twins, Bob and Tom, and young Jimmie.
