Mr. Davies was buried Monday afternoon -in Fern Knoll Cemetery. Services were conducted in Dallas | Methodist Church by Rev. Russell | Lawry, for one of the church’s | staunchest and most faithful sup- | porters. Pallbearers were: John Lloyd, Harold’ Croom, William Dohman, Jacob Seitchek, Donald Miller, and Joseph Jewell. Surgery at Geisinger Hospital in Danville in May, proved futile. Mr. Davies died as he would have wished to die, in his’ own home, with his family close at hand. His most out- standing characteristic was love of his home and of his family, and the world of books. At the time of his death at 69, he was president of the Royer Foun- dry and Machine Company, where he had been associated in business since 1924, after working for a time at the Vulcan Iron Works. ‘A native of Plymouth, son of the late James Bevan and Ann Smyth Davies, prominent in the anthracite industry, he was educated in Ply- mouth public schools, at Harry Hill- man Academy, and at Wyoming Seminary. Mr. Davies was. a member of George M. Dallas Lodge 531 F&AM, Caldwell Consistory, and the Irem Temple. - He is survived by his widow, the former Elizabeth Bowen Kutzner of Wilkes-Barre, active in Girl Scout Council and in community life; three children: Mrs. Edward L. Stanley, Tokyo, Japan; Stanley S. Davies, Dallas; John K. Davies, Ridgewood, N. J; ten grandchildren; a sister, Miss Leonore Davies, Wilkes-Barre; a brother, Bruce W. Davies, Forty Fort; Nieces and nephews include Mrs. Peter Clark, Mrs. John C. Phil- lips, and Bruce S. Davies Jr., Dallas. A son, James B.
