W.S.C.S. Meets The W.S.C.S. of Alderson Metho- dist Church was entertained at the home of Mrs. Otis Allen Sr. on Thursday. Major and Mrs. Richard Cook, Jr. and four sons travelled 4,500 miles on the Alcan Highway from their residence in Alaska, to spend the month of June with the former's sister, Mrs. Lowther Brown of Trucksville. They will leave shortly for Germany where Major Cook will be stationed with the United States Air Force. PAGE NINE Stredny Loses Two Valuable Heifers Edward Stredny, West Dallas, is missing two Holstein heifers since last Wednesday, when four young heifers apparently wandered out of his barn sometime during the mor- ning. Two were discovered that same day just before dark on the railroad track near the Country Club. Neigh- bors of Mr. Stredny have been on the lookout, but without results.
