Harris expects to study medicine at Jefferson next year. Charles James, Jr., resumed his teaching duties at New Egypt, N. J., Sunday after spending the week at his home on Jackson Street, where he was called by the serious ill- ness of his father. Mrs. D. Eva Barnes has returned from Miami, Fla., (stopping off in Virginia and Washington, D. C.) to the home of her son and daughter- in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Barnes, Elmecrest Drive, Dallas. She ex- pects to leave by plane the end of the month to visit her brother in San Francisco, Calif., stopping en route both ways to visit old friends and spots of interest. Mrs. Charles Frantz, Chase, will entertain members of the Library Auction Antique Committee at tea next Friday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Howard W. Risley, Huntsville Road, will attend com- mencement exercises at Mercers- burg Academy this weekend where their nephew, Leighton Scott is a member of the graduating class, and at Swarthmore [College next weekend where their niece, Priscilla Boston, will be graduated. Priscilla has accepted a position as head of the mathematics department in Swarthmore public schools for next year. Leighton will study at Hav- erford College. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Peterson and son, Joe, spent last weekend in Philadelphia visiting friends and checking up on Joe's eyes. Mrs. Peterson and Ann are spending the holiday weekend in Boston visiting ~ Pete’s mother and family. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Brown have sold their home on 42nd Street, West Dallas, and are building a home in Lehman. Mr. and Mrs. John Hollock, Noxen, have announced the birth of a baby boy at General Hospital on May 20. Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Johnson who have been living in the Hildebrant apartment on Norton Avenue, will move next week to their newly pur- chased home on Midland Drive, Dallas. Frederick J. Eck, Shavertown, and Homer Moyer, Dallas, returned Thursday night from the Northern Regional Conference of the National Association of Bank Comiptrollers and Auditors held this year in Cleveland. Mr. Eck is vice presi- dent-elect of Anthracite Chapter and Mr. Moyer is a past president. Theme of the conference was “Auto- mation in Banking.” Mrs. James Ritchie has returned from Mercy Hospital, where she was a. surgical patient, to the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Buckley. Elston of Lehman, grad- uated ‘May 20 from the Johns Hop- pins Hospital School of Nursing with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, Mrs. Elston, accompanied by her sister, Mrs. K. I. Terry of Berwick, spent the weekend in Baltimore and attended the graduation exercises. Miss Elston is a graduate of Leh- man High School, and attended %he Pennsylvania State University for two years. While at Penn State, she was a member of Kappa Phi Sorority and a dormitory counselor for the Freshman Girls. Following her two years of prep- aration in liberal arts at Penn State, Miss Elston transferred to Johns Hopkins to matriculate for her de- gree in nursing from Johns Hopkins University. She plans to return to Johns Hopkins on June 3 as a staff nurse. Dallas Ambulance Makes Trip To Philadelphia Dallas Community Ambulance made one of its rare trips outside the specified twenty-mile radius on Saturday, when Norti Berti and Ray Titus took it to Philadelphia by the new turnpike extension, to bring Marion Hildebrant back to her home in East Dallas after an operation on her back at Fitzgerald Mercy Hos- pital. Leaving at 6 a. m., they were home by midafternoon in spite of a delay of an hour and a half at the hospital. Miss Hildebrant could have returned in no other manner cessity. Miss Theresa Casper Becomes Bride Of Ralph Hutchins Saturday at 2 p. m., Theresa Cas- per, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. An- thony (Casper of Lehman, became the bride' of Ralph Hutchins, son of Solomon and the late Mrs. Solomon Hutchins of Hunlock Creek. The ceremony was performed in West Nanticoke. Attendants were Mary Ann and William Mitchell, niece and nephew of the bridegroom of Hunlock Creek. Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the home of the bride- groom’s sister in Mocanaqua. The bride wore yellow and white | cotton street dress, white accessor- ies and shoulder bouquet of red roses. Miss Mitchell chose white or- gandy street dress over yellow slip, white accessories and red roses. Mrs. Casper, mother of the bride, selected navy street dress, matching accessories and white roses. Mrs. Hutchins is a graduate of Lehman High School and has been employed by General Cigar Factory in Kingston. Mr. Hutchins is em- ployed by Hudson Coal Company in _ Plymouth.
