It's so peaceful and quiet around here I'm wondering if I should take some hamburger out of the freezer or plan on having the trout dinner I've been prom- ised? I suppose I could just hap- pen to have the meat loaf all baked and ready for sandwiches next week. The linament, aspirin, mer- ‘churochrome, and lambs wool slip- pers are all in the living room wait- ing for the tired body to drop in the nearest chair. Is it worth it? They think so. There is never a groan when the alarm. clock goes off at 5:30 instead of 7. The night before one of these great, fishing expeditions it takes hours and hours to get the poles out, the lines greased and wound, the tackle lo- cated, a. heavy coat in case of cold, a light coat in case of heat, a - sweater for in between, a spare shirt, socks and sometimes shoes in case of need, bug repellant, a bottle of liquid and the stick type went on this trip, several candy bars to ease the hunger pains and maybe to feed the fish, at least two thermos jugs, one for coffee and one for tea. On and on the neces- sities add up. Then the questions begin. Do ‘we have a little bottle that I could put some aspirin in? How about a waterproof box for some matches? Where are the Last year I had a folding tin cup—where is it? Oh, well, they have gone now. The meat loaf is in the oven and I can turn’ my thoughts to the weekly items. : .
