AN ORDINANCE
GOVERNING AND REGULATING
THE USE OF LAND AND IM-
PROVEMENTS THEREON IN PRE-
VENTION OF NUISANCES AND
FOR THE PROMOTION OF THE
HEALTH, CLEANLINESS, COM-
FORT AND SAFETY OF. THE CIT-
IZENS OF JACKSON TOWNSHIP
IN THE USE OF HOUSE TRAILERS
FOR LIVING QUARTERS.
Be it enacted and ordained by
Jackson Township by its Supervis-
ors in meeting assembled, and it is
hereby enacted and ordained by the
authority of the same, that it shall
be unlawful for any person, firm or
corporation to use, authorize the
use of or abet in the use of house
trailers as living quarters in viola-
tion of the following regulations and
restrictions intended to prevent
nuisances and promote the health,
cleanliness, comfort and safety of
the citizens of Jackson Township.
Section 1. No house trailer used
for living quarters shall be situate
nearer than thirty feet from the
adjoining side line of any public
road or highway and twenty-five
feet from any other house trailer
used for living quarters or any other
structure.
Section 2. No sewage or waste
matter or water shall be emptied
on the surface of any land occupied
or adjoining any house trailer used
for living quarters and all sewage
or waste matter or water in any
house trailer used for living quar-
ters having such for disposal shall
be emptied into a septic tank or
covered sump with laterals which
shall be placed at least thirty feet
from the adjoining side line of any
public road or highway.
Section 3. Any person, firm or
corporation violating any provisions
of this ordinance, shall, upon con-
viction thereof, be fined not exceed-
ing $100.00 for any offense recover-
able with costs, together with judg-
ment, or, imprisonment not exceed-
ing thirty days if the amount of said
judgment and costs shall not be
paid. Each day that a violation is
permitted to exist shall constitute a
separate offense. Any violation of
the provisions of this ordinance
shall be a public nuisance and abat-
able as such. :
Section 4. The provisions of this
ordinance shall be severable, and if
any provision is declared invalid or
the applicability thereof to any per-
son, firm or corporation is held
invalid, the validity of the remaind-
er of the ordinance and the applica-
bility thereof to other persons and
circumstances shall not be affected
thereby.

ing a tax of TWO DOLLARS ($2.00)
per month on the use or occupancy
of house trailers suitable for living
quarters. Imposition of the said tax
is necessitated in the judgment of
the Supervisors by the additional
burdens. placed upon the Township
for the prevention of nuisances and
the protection of health and safety.
The estimated amount of revenue to
be derived from the tax is TWELVE
HUNDRED DOLLARS ($1,200.00)
per year.
