He will select a full line of fall and holiday mer- chandise. Last week Jerry attended the lamp show in New York and bought some lovely table lamps, TV lamps and pin up lamps. Beaumont The Bob Horlacher Memorial Lit- tle League will be guests of honor at a party at the Noxen Little League Field Saturday, August 20. All players of the league are in- vited. The teams of the league are: Noxen, Mehoopany, Auburn Center, and Beaumont. Hospital patients for this week are Donald Nulton at the General and Phillip Frey at the Nesbitt. The Edwin Showalters of Weyer’s Cave, Va., were guests at the War- ren Johnsons last week. Mr. Show- alter and Mr. Johnson were pals in the Marine Corps and hospital pa- tients at Bethesda after being wounded at Pelelieu. Mr. and Mrs. John King of Day- ton, Pa. spent last week with the Clarence Hilberts. Mrs. Addie Austin and Mrs. Rose Hilbert were ill at their homes this Weekend guests at the Herbert Goodwins were Mr. and Mrs. B. C. Palmer and son Stephen of Wil- mington, Del. Mrs. Palmer's parents, the C. W. Jewetts, planned to ac- company them, but Hurricane Con- nie took care of that when the dike near their home broke and caused the Jewett home to be flooded. Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Kozak and Miss Ann Kubec now of Springville, N. Y. were home recently. The Rebecca Class of the Union Sunday School held a weiner roast at the home of the James Cooks Monday, August 15. The Lend-A-Hand Club’s weiner roast was held at the 1.0.O.F. Hall after “Connie” changed the plans last Thursday. The group voted to have twenty-five cents “talent mon- ey’ for each member who is to make that amount grow by the use of each individual's own particular talent. Final returns are to be made at the Thanksgiving Dinner when a prize will be given to the member returning the largest amount. Mrs. Alva Taylor has returned from Binghamton, N. Y. where she vacationed with relatives. The George Kuhls have returned from their visit with relatives in N.Y.
