MAIN HIGHWAY TRUCKSVILLE Two Duets Added To 7th Concert Program Will Be Presented Oct. 22 Two duets have been added to the program of the Seventh Annual Community Concert, October 22, in Westmoreland High School audi- torium. Indications point to this year’s festival of music being the best held thus far, with almost every community of the Back Moun- tain area represented and a fine array of musical and vocal artists participating. Richard Oliver, popular tenor, and Miss Mildred Kingston, well known soprano, both of Dallas, will sing one duet on the concert program. Miss Kingston studies voice under the supervision of Mrs. Ruth Turn Reynolds, and was one of the so- loists at last year’s concert. She has been soloist at numerous church affairs, and gave her first senior voice recital last year in First Methodist Church, Wilkes-Barre. Having studied voice for several years with Wilbur Isaacs at Wilkes College, Richard Oliver is now studying with Mrs. Ruth Turn Reynolds. He is senior soloist at Dallas Methodist Church, and has sung at numerous community af- fairs. Mr. Oliver was first tenor in the male double quartet, “The Mountainaires” at last year’s con- cert. William H. Burnaford, Shaver- town, and Ruth Turn Reynolds, Trucksville, who sang duets on pre- vious concert programs, will again appear together this year by popu- lar request. Both artists have long been admired for their musical ac- complishments. Ruth Turn Reynolds has been president of the National Federation of Mozart Clubs, thereby bringing national distinction to this talented soloist, organist, and choir director from Trucksville. Mr. Burnaford has taken leading roles in the Little Theater produc- tions and has been soloist in St. John’s Lutheran Church, Wilkes- Barre. Both Mrs. Reynolds and Mr. Burnaford are known in the musi- cal circles of Wyoming Valley and many lovers of good music attend this annual Back Mountain festival of music to hear these two accom- plished artists. Mrs. Reynolds is also known for her ability as a vocal instructor.
