    At The Auction
Fun House, Comics,
To Keep Kids Busy
Mrs. Antoinette Mason and Mrs.
Arline Rood, second and first grade
teachers .at Dallas Elementary
school, will again have charge of
the Fun House for small children at
the Library Auction, July 9 and 10.
Children up to age twelve will enjoy
a fish-pond, clown-face ball game,
and other games, with plenty of
prizes. Mrs. Mason has had a new
clown made and painted, to replace
the one which was broken last year.
Parents will assist. The Fun House
will be open both days of the auc-
tion from noon until 9 p. m.
For boys and girls who like comic
books, Troop 200 is collecting used
comics. Joe Peterson has been in
charge of this project for several
years. This year Durelle Scott and
Joe will collect in Dallas, Tommy
Kelly in Fernbrook, and Lynn
Sheehan in Parrish Heights, and
it will be a Boy Scout responsibility
to man the booth in shifts. Any boy
who has a stack of used comic books
may contribute them, and replenish
his supply by buying different ones
at the booth at a genercus mark-
down.

Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Austin and
family of Terrace Drive, Shaver-
near Allentown, where Mr. Austin
has been transferred with the Bell
Telephone Company.s
David Jenkins, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Thomas Jenkins, Shavertown,
is confined to his home with mumps.
Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Andrews
and daughter, Mary Ruth, Terrace
Drive, Shavertown spent Thursday
at Harrisburg.
Mr. and Mrs. Johnson Miers,
Terrace Drive Shavertown, have as
guests, Mr. and Mrs. Milton Beseck-
er and children, Phyllis and Tommy
of Buffalo, N. Y.
Rev. and Mrs. Russell Edmond-
son, Shaver Avenue, Shavertown,
had as guests last week, Rev. and
Mrs. Albert Raymond Smith and
daughter, Ruthie, Miss Jane Preston,
Cutler, Illionois; Miss Claire Smith,
Washington, Pa.
Linda Nicol, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Charles Nicol, Terrace Drive,
Shavertown, is able to be cut again
after being confined to her home
with mumps.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Paget and
family, formerly of Yeager Avenue,
have moved to the late John Sten-
ger's residence on Terrace Drive,
Shavertown.
Mrs. Laura Jean Owen, Maple
Street, Trucksville, has returned
after being a patient in Nesbitt
Hospital.
Marilyn Rother, student nurse at
Mercy Hospital, has returned to
her duties after spending the week-
end with her parents and family at
Shavertown.
Mrs. William Shoemaker, has re-
turned to her home in Martinez,
son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and
Mrs. Roland Shoemaker, Maple
Street, Shavertown.
Mrs. John Dillon, Summit Street,
Trucksville Gardens, is a patient in
the Mercy Hospital, where she was
taken in the Kingston Township
Ambulance.
Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Waldow,
Mt. Airy Road, Shavertown, spent
the weekend in New York and New
Jersey where they attended the
25th wedding anniversary of Mr.
Waldow’s brother and sister-in-law,
Mr. and Mrs. Bruno Waldow. :
Mrs. Byron Kitchen, Franklin
Street, Shavertown, js able to be
out again after being confined to her
home with the grippe. ;
Johnson Coolbaugh, Harris Hill
Road, Trucksville, is a patient in the
Nesbitt Hospital.
Mrs. Walter Webster, Shaver
Avenue, Shavertown, spent the
weekend visiting her husband who
is working in Philadelphia. :
Mr. and Mrs. Edward Muncie and
children, Barbara and Edward, Jr.
Terrace Drive, Shavertown, spent
the weekend in New York.
Mrs. Lawrence Kintzer, Shaver
Avenue, Shavertown,is a patient in
the Mercy Hospital.
Larry Waldo, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Stephen Waldow, Mt. Airy Road,
Shavertown, celebrated his second
birthday on Saturday, June 19th.

Betty Cooke of Fernbrook spent
Thursday with Mrs. Joseph Rauch.
Mrs. Peter Kuchta of Harrisburg
is spending a week with Mr. and
Mrs. H. R. Garinger.
Mr. and Mrs. Lee Shepperson of
Danville spent ithe weekend with
Mr. and Mrs. Howard Higgins. ‘Their
daughter Peggy Lee will remain for
a visit with her grandparents.
Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Garinger
entertained over the weekend Mr.
and Mrs. Arthur Davenport, and
Mr. and Mrs. Everett Wilkens and
children Allen and Kathy, of
Owosso, Michigan.

day night was well attended. The

Mrs. Yvonne Tubedeaux of Toluba
Trailer Park is home after two
weeks at the Nesbitt Hospital. Her
mother flew in from Alabama to be
with her.
Theodore Toluba accompanied his
father on a business trip to the
American Trailer factory at (Cas-
soppolis, Michigan.
Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Achuff of
Brooklyn, N. Y., are visiting Mr. and
Mrs. Thomas Stacey.
Mr. and Mrs. George Casterline
recently spent several days with
relatives and friends in Bethesda,
Maryland.
Mr. and Mrs. Allen Keil and
children of Lockport, N. Y., are
spending this week with Mr. and
Mrs. Keil of Luzerne and Mr. and
Mrs. Loren Keller.
Mrs. Walter Smith, Mrs. Edmund
Weber and Mrs. Clifford Davis and
daughters spent Tuesday in Allen-
town where they attended the grad-
uation of Betty Lou Smith. Betty
Lou is the granddaughter of Mrs.
Smith.
The Confidence Class will have a
covered dish picnic on Tuesday at
the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce
Williams, 6:30. All members and
friends are invited. 3
Mrs. Wayne Smith and Mrs.
Peggy Waldron, student nurses at
the Springfield [State Hospital, spent
the weekend with Mr. and Mrs.
Bruce Williams. They were accom-
panied by Mrs. Wayne Smith.
Carol Skripka of Kingston spent
a few days with her cousin, Carol
Toluba recently.
A number of folks from here at-
tended the Ide reunion, which was
held at Wolfe’s Grove on Saturday.
Mrs. Charlote Pennypacker of
Philadelphia is spending sometime
with Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Husted.
Joan Williams of Newark, N. J.
is visiting Mr. and Mrs. Russell
Rogers.
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Meade en-
tertained over the weekend Mr. and
Mrs. Tonetie Zell and children of
Philadelphia.
Mrs. Margaret Jennings is ill with
pneumonia.
Major and Mrs. R. E. Van Gorden
have moved from Montgomery, Ala.,
to Washington D. C. Major Van
Gorden is stationed at the Pentagon
Building. Mrs. Van Gorden is a
sister of Mrs. Donald Williams.

The Daily Vacation Bible School
was held in the church house from
Monday to Friday June 21 to 25.
The theme of the school this year
was “Our Church.” An enthusiatic
group of boys and girls between the
ages of 3 and 12, anxiously awaited
the first day and continued in their
eagerness thru the week. The
children learned the history of the
church, its makings and functions.
There were outdoor activities, games
and songs. On Wednesday Rev.
Bostic took the older groups into the
church and explained the meaning
of the services and ritual. Sunday
morning the children presented a
short program to demonstrate some
of the things they had learned. He
presented perfect attendance pins to
33 of the students.

urday evening, following a wienie
roast at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Charles Mannear. Mr. and Mrs.
Bud Irvid will take the presidency;

who is a surgical patient at the
General Hospital.

very glad to leave her tonsils at the
General Hospital last week.
Misses Virgina and Louise Ohl-
man joined Mrs. Edward MacDongall
at Bob’s Lake, (Canada, for a week's
fishing.

Professor Ernest Downs, teacher
at Mansfield State Teachers College,
was with his mother, Mrs. Mary
Downs, last weekend.
Ernest is doing summer work for
his doctor’s degree at Penn State
University.

joined their friends, Dr. and Mrs.
T. J. Keating of West Chester, in
New York City this week for the
National Education Association
meeting at Madison Square Garden
and the United Nations Building.

Holds Reunion At Lake
Class of 1946, Dallas .Borough
High School enjoyed a reunion
Saturday night at Colony Inn,
Harveys Lake. Mrs. Frank Summa
and Mrs. Tex Wilson were co chair-
men.
The party table was attractive
with center piece of garden flowers
and blue and gold tapers.
The program consisted of the in-
vocation by Charles James, princi-
pal of the school, remarks by James
monan, class adviser, introductions
by toastmaster, Eugene McCarty,
rereading of the class prophecy and
will. Pictures of the children of
class members were posted. The
George Broodys brought carnations
for all women present.
