Collision At Lake
Sunday Night At 10
Wardan Place, the only portion
of Harveys Lake shoreline under
jurisdiction of Lehman Township,
was the scene of a collision Sunday
night at 10, when a car driven by
Doyle Smith, of Noxen, on the
wrong side of the road, met a car
driven by a West Side teenager.
Leonard Hungarter, 17, of Kings-
ton and his companion, Dorothy
Mae Bird, 14, of Edwardsville, were
rushed to Nesbitt Hospital by a
passing ‘motorist, where they were
retained on suspicion of fractured
skulls.
Harveys Lake police, Chief Edgar
Hughes and Walbridge Leinthal, as-
sisted Joseph Ide, Lehman chief,
in directing traffic. The ambu-
lance, called to the scene, was not
needed, the patients having already
left.
Smith, in his mid-twenties, has
been involved in several other traf-
fic accidents.
