Thrills At Fair
Bloomsburg Has Sixteen
Harness Events Listed
Sixteen racing events are sched-
uled for the five day race meet at
the Bloomsburg Fair, which opens
on Monday afternoon, September
24th and closes on Friday after-
noon. Among these events are
four stake races, the two-year-old
trot and pace and the three-year-
old trot and pace divisions of
Bloomsburg Fair Stakes. The re-
maining twelve events all pay a
purse of $1,000.00 edch and will
be raced two dashes at one mile.
On Monday afternoon the open-
ing race is the 2:12 Pace, which
always draws a field of outstanding
pacers. This is followed by the
2:14 Trot and the 2:27 Pace.
On Tuesday afternoon the racing
program opens with the 2:24 Trot
to be followed by the two-year-old
pacing division of Bloomsburg Fair
Stake No. 6, where the best two-
year-old pacers of the country will
vie with each other for an estima-
ted purse of $13,000.00. This will
be followed ‘by the three-year-old
Trotting Division of Bloomsburg
Fair Stake No. 5, with an estima-
ted purse of $12,000,
On Wednesday afternoon the
racing program opens with the
2:15 pace to be followed by the
two-year-old Trotting Division of
Bloomsburg Fair Stake No. 6, for
an estimated purse of $13,000.00 to
which the foremost two-year olds
of the year have been kept eligible.
This will be followed by the three-
year-old Pacing Division of Blooms-
burg Fair Stake No. 5, where there
has been kept eligible the out-
standing three-year-old pacers of
the country. No pacing stake in
the world has more outstanding
eligibles than the Three-Year-Old
Pacing Division of Bloomsburg Fair
Stake No. 5.
On Thursday afternoon the pro-
gram will open with the always
popular Free-For-All Trot, then the
2:19 Pace, 2:20 Trot and 2:24 Pace,
an outstanding program of class
racing. _
On Friday, the final day of har-
ness racing, the program will fea-
ture the Free-For-All Pace, a 2:17
Trot and a 2:27 Trot.
