Mrs. Lewis LeGrand and Mrs. W. E. McQuilkin will be in charge. Donations of books are now in order, everything from light fiction to weighty tomes of biography and history. Don’t forget those little pocket books with the giddy colored covers. If your shelves are loaded with whodunits, bring in a bushel basket of them and load up with some new ones for summer read- ing. Everything from Little Elsie to the Rover Boys, from Purple Pas- sion to Pallid Patricia, will find a buyer. And while you are overhauling your books, if you can divorce your young from their comic books on the promise of new and different ones at the Library Auction, you will be swelling the grand total and bringing in Auction receipts nearer the ten thousand dollar goal. Comic books are salable, and provide something at the auction which ‘the children can afford to buy. If you can’t bear to see chil- dren reading comic books, look the other way. A child hunched on the bank reading a comic is a child who is not barging around the barnyard knocking over the an- tiques. How long has it been since you have gone over your books? Tastes change. What appealed to you fiftteen years ago may now leave you cold, but it might be exactly Kingston Township Blood-types 117 Blood-typing, carried out on an experimental basis in Trucksville, Shavertown, and Carverton, re- cently, showed sufficient response to indicate that a mass blood-typ- ing for civilian defense records could be undertaken in the future in case of necessity. Technicians from Kirby Health Center typed 48 civilians in Trucksville on June 12 at the Fire House; 54 at Shavertown Fire House on June 13; and 15 at Car- verton Grange Hall on June 14. According to Civilian Defense heads, it takes only a few drops | of blood from a pricked finger to determine blood type. Typing is necessary before a transfusion can be given or received. Much valu- able time in case of injury or dis- aster may ibe saved by possession of a card bearing correct blood type. Revival Continues Pastor R. W. Edmondson ann- ounces that the revival now in progress in the Shavertown Bible Church will continue all next week, There will be preaching every night.
