Board Asks Again
For Housing Project
Plans And Budget
Kingston Township School Board
at its meeting last Monday au-
thorized its secretary to ask Lu-
zerne County Housing Authority
for a copy of the budget and plans
for its Meadowcrest project at
Trucksville Gardens.
Those who have seen the printed
prospectus of the Authority say
that it is so full of errors and om-
missions of fact that it has pro-
bably been withheld from the
Board in spite of repeated requests
for some information on the pro-
| ject.
The Board also withdrew its ob-
jections to the findings of the
State Tax Equalization Board after
learning the decision of the Su-
preme Court in the Newport Town-
ship Case. .If the Board had not
withdrawn its objection, the State
reimbursement for teachers’ sal-
aries would have been withheld for
an indefinite period.
In the absence of R. D. Currie,
Board president, James Hutchison
presided,
The Board also adopted Daylight
saving time to start, Monday, April
30, and announced that Miss Clara
Cockerille, associate Superintendent
of Altoona Schools will be the
Commencement Speaker on June 5.
Rev. R. W. Edmondson will give the
Baccalaureate address on Sunday
June 3. Miss Cockerille is study-
ing for her doctor’s degree at Penn-
sylvania State College.
At the conclusion of the meeting,
the Kingston Township and Dallas
Boards met as a joint board with
Dr. R. M. Bodycomb, presiding as
chairman.

of Electrical Engineers, announces
that the annual meeting and ladies’
night of the Institute will be held
Friday evening, May 11 at Irem
Temple Country Club.
Dinner will be served at 6:30
and followed by the meeting at
8:00 o'clock when there will be an -
election of the officers who will
serve the ensuing year.
Members and guests will be pre-
sent from the nine areas of the
Lehigh Valley Section which in-
cludes the Easton, Allentown, Beth-
lehem, Reading, Harrisburg, Hazle-
ton, Sunbury, Scranton and Wilkes
Barre districts. H. E. Charles, Vice
Chairman of the Institute is assist-
ing Mr. Evans with the arrange-
ments and reservations.
Following the meeting, William
H. Curtiss, , advertising and mer-
chandising director of the Textile
Division of Owens-Corning Fiber-
glas Corp. will give a talk on
“Fiberglas”. = Preceding Mr. Cur-
tiss’s presentation, there will be a
titled, “Watts in Glass”. It illus-
trates the many uses of Fiberglas
in the electrical field. The pro-
gram should be of interest to the
with the use of Fiberglas in cur-
tains, draperies, and other decora-
tive fabrics.
Arrangements have also been
made for the members and their
Temple Country Club golf course
Friday afternoon prior to the din-
ner.

Plan Fair, Supper
Ladies Aid will hold a fair and
cafeteria supper next Wednesday
in the Church Hall. Baked goods,
fancy-work, parcel post, home-
made candy, will be on sale. Supper
menu offers choice of ham or meat
loaf, with baked beans, cottage
cheese, mashed potatoes and gravy,
cabbage salad, buss ple and coffee.
