Harvey's Lake
Mrs. Kate Schultz had as visitors
last Sunday Mrs. G. M. Werle, Mrs.
Ruth Werle, “George Werle, and
Aaron Dietrick of Danville.
George Smith Jr. and his fiancee,
Miss Shirley Alexander of Lewis-
town spent last weekend with
George Smith Sr.
Mr, and Mrs. Wheeler Kunkle,
Mrs. Harry Haas and son, Harry
have moved to their newly decor-
ated home in Kunkle.
Mrs. ‘Harvey Kitchen entertained
at a covered dish luncheon at her
home in Idetown Thursday.

Mrs. Harry Nettleton returned
to her home in Beacon Falls, Conn.,
Monday after spending the last
five weeks with relatives and
friends in the Back Mountain Area.
Helen Williamson of Philadelphia
who is visiting friends in the Back
Mountain Area spent several days
with Mrs. Della Parrish.
Marie Wright has returned to
Lake Carey after ¢pending two
weeks with relatives and friends
in Syracuse, N.Y., and in the Back
Mountain Area.
Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Leninger
and son Barry of Shillington spent
the weekend with Mr. and Mrs.
Hayden Williams: and Mrs. Wil-
liams returned with them for a
visit.
Marilyn Williams, student nurse
of the General Hospital, spent the
last two weeks with her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Williams.
Dr. and Mrs. Benjamin Short-
kroff and daughters Sonya, Faye,
Gail, Mary Joyce of Philadelphia
spent Sunday with the .former’s
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Fritz.
Sterling Meade of Sweet Valley
spent Sunday with his grandpar-
ents, Mr. and Mrs. Corey Meade.
The Serving and Waiting Class,
Confidence Class and the W.S.C.S.
will hold a bake sale on the Shaver
lawn on Saturday, August 12 be-
ginning at 1:30. The proceeds will
be used for the furnace fund.
Mr. and Mrs. William Goodwin
of. Forty Fort spent Sunday with
Mr. and Mrs. Homer Middleton.
The W.S.C.S. will hold a garden
party on Agnew'’s lawn on August
19, Mrs. William C. Deets of Har-
veys Lake will read the Pink
House.

The Little League took Factory-
ville by a score of 7-2, but you
will have to call Alden Dietz to
find the results of Sunday's game
for said correspondent, Mrs. Wil-
liam Arch Austin, is writing these
items on a screened porch at Black
Lake near Ogdensburg on the St.
Lawrence while Arch looks over
possible fishing spots. The Aus-
tins are guests of Mr. and Mrs.
Herbert Dennington of Ilion, N.Y.
It was grand to learn that Mrs.
Franklin Smith, who has been
most seriously ill at the General
Hospital, is improving.
The Union Sunday School picnic
at Nay Aug Park was well en-
joyed by “all who attended.
Mrs. John Smith of Potsdam,
N. Y., 'is with her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Charles Smith, helping
to care for Joyce and Charles while
their mother is ill.
The Stanley Kozaks and the
“Andy” Denmons joined the Paul
Richardses and the ‘‘Casey” Den-
mons at Long Lake, Canada last
week.
The Beaumont-Centermoreland
group took the Attendance Record
at the Young People’s Rally at the
Union Church.
Mrs, Daisy Fillmore has return-
ed to her home at Scranton.
Anniversary Banquet
Mount Vale Council 224, Daugh-
ters of America, will hold their
anniversary banquet at the Dallas
Methodist Church social rooms, on
Tuesday evening, August 22 at
6:30 P.M. Reservations should be
sent to Mrs. Alice Fiske, not later
than August 18.
