William Joseph and family of Chester, Pa., have purchased a lot from Ziba Smith at Meadow Lake Farm and are breaking ground for a new home. They are now living in the annex of the Smith farm house. Mrs. Mary E. Smith spent a few days recently with the Harrisons who have just moved into their new home at Huntsville. Mrs. H. H. Zeiser and Mrs. W. J. Smith who have been spending the winter in St. Petersburg expect to leave there for Williamsburg, Va., this weekend. Easter weekend they “will spend in Easton with the form- er’'s daughter and son-in-law, At- torney and Mrs. Leighton R. Scott. 1. R. Elston, Center street, Shaver- town, is home after spending a month at General Hospital where he underwent a serious surgical operation following a month’s ill- ness at home. Mr. Elston is one of the best-known horsemen in this area having owned several pacers with which he toured the north- eastern circuit for many years. Mr. and Mrs. Byron G. Ide of Trucksville are spending a few days this ‘week at Warren, Ohio. Robert Gardner Jr. of Easton will spend the weekend with his mother in Trucksville. Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Reese of Easton spent Wednesday afternoon with the former’s mother, Mrs. Nel- lie Reese of Trucksville. Mr. and Mrs. Mike Strub and children, Zena and Jolyon of Ma- chell avenue will spend the weekend with Mrs. Strub’s family in Easton. Mrs. Strub and the children will remain over Easter. Mrs. Herbert A. Smith of Machell avenue is a patient at Woman's Medical College Hospital in Phila- delphia where she submitted to an operation last week. She expects to return to her home next week. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Frantz of Huntsville entertained over the weekend the former's sister, Mrs. Ella Martin of Elizabethtown. Kenneth Huey, Lehigh Street, Shavertown, is a patient at Nesbitt Memorial Hospital where he is undergoing treatment. Miss Marilyn Ohlman, student at Temple University, will arrive Thursday to spend the Easter vaca- tion with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Ohlman of Machell avenue. Lois Warriner, student at Dickin- son College, will arrive Wednesday to spend the Easter vacation with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Warriner of Demunds road. Mrs. Ernest Keller has returned to her home in Shavertown after submitting to a cataract operation at General Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. David Lees of Ma- chell avenue have purchased the Girvan house on Sago street, Goss Manor. They will move the first of the month. Bridge Group Attends Show in Philadelphia The members of a Shavertown Bridge Club attended the Flower Show at Philadelphia last Wednes- day. They went by bus. Attending were: Mrs. Willard Durbin, Mrs. Burdette Crane, Mrs. Howard Apple- ton, Mrs. James Martin, Mrs. Cedric Griffith, Mrs. Walter Cook, Mrs Frank Garris and Mrs. Lewis Evans Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Schmerer who have been spending the winter in Jacksonville, Fla., will return to Dallas this week. Weaver and family are spending a month with Mr. Weaver's mother in Forty Fort while their home on Franklin street is being renovated. Allen Root, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Root of Franklin street is able to be back at school after an illness. Mr. and Mrs. John Grivan had as weekend guests Mrs. Hannah Ferguson and daughter, Ruth, of Wilkes-Barre. Sunday their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Girvan and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Anwyl drove up from Norris- town for the day. Mr. and Mrs. Peter Oberst have moved from Main road to 431 N. Main Street, Plains. Frank Jackson is able to be out again after a recent illness at his home at Alderson. William K. Richards ofy the Bank Proofing Department, I.LB.M., has been transferred from Vestal, N.Y. to Poughkeepsie. The family will move there on May 1st. The Rich- ards children, Karen and Keith, are spending the week with their grand- parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Jack- son.
